Gamestop- Trade in your Wii U for $120 plus $75 extra

Can I trade more than one system and get 75$ on top of trade in value for both? I traded in an OG PS4 a couple of days ago towards switch for 200$ credit minus pro membership of 15$. Can I trade in a 3ds today and get the 75 extra credit and put towards the existing switch preorder?

It's only $20/30(non pro/pro) for 3DS.

Never trade in hardware folks. I learned that the hard way. You can save up and buy a Switch, no need to rush especially considering the launch lineup. Also isn't the Wii U out of production at this point? That makes it even rarer, then imagine a few years down the line.

I need help. Games I have are tropical freeze, 3D world, and pikmin 3. Plus some virtual console games. Plus Wii games of metroid prime trilogy, super Mario galaxy and skyward sword.

I could pay off a switch this way. Should I. How many of those games do you think I will bbe able play of those on the switch??

Selling my day one xbox one was a no-brainer. I plan on purchasing a scorpio later this year. My Xbox One was also doing nothing but collecting dust since all I play is my Ps4.

Nah, take money off the table and save your cash. Owning less unused "stuff" is a nice bonus, too.

I would do this but only ONLY in the following circumstances:

1) All the games I own on my Wii U have ports coming out for the Switch. Mario 3D World, Wooly World, (Which I haven't opened) Pikmin 3, (Which I haven't opened) DKCTF, (Which I haven't beaten) NSMBU and NSMLU, Wind Waker HD, and all my VC games...

2) We get a Zelda themed Switch LE that I can buy without having to fight the scalpers because my Wii U is a Zelda Wii U.

Eh fuck it. I'm keeping it forever.

There's a difference. If the hardware has a lot of valuable titles and you're still playing on it, then sure you keep it if you want. Otherwise, trade it in if you're not using it.

Normally I stick to this too, but the Wii u is kind of a specific case where it really doesn't have any games I still care about playing other than Mario kart and ssb, both of which will get ports on the switch.

Took advantage of this. I liked the Wii u but there wasn't any real reason to ahng onto it other than Bayonetta 2. Gave it to a buddy so I can play it over there whenever.

I never trade in hardware so that says just how much of a disappointment the Wii u is.

Looking forward to switch, hopefully won't repeat the same mistake.

I'm not fucking trading mine in even for that bonus. It plays my Wii and Wii U games and how am I supposed to play Bayonetta 2 without it? Nope. Good for those who prefer the money I guess.

Really depends on how sentimental one is. I honestly can't remember many games or consoles that I don't regret trading in lol. Think I'm finally done with the practice myself. I don't care if it ends up in my closet, I'm just going to keep my consoles going forward. I know I'm going to randomly get the desire to play some Wii U 2-3 years from now, and I'll end up cursing my stupidity. It happen every goddamm time.

Is this still going on since they have gone through their allocation already?

i traded my xb1 in and i got the extra $75 for it even if you alreayd have a pre-order you can still get the bonus the offer is good till the 22nd but if you didnt get a pre-order than good luck finding a gamestop thats still taking them.

Lol same

Call me crazy, but I feel like that Wii U will be one of those systems that are hard to find in the future.

Idk about trading it in, but that is a damn good price for it.

I have fully regretted every console I traded in. Trust me it is not the same getting 'someone else's' old console later on when you feel nostalgic. The indigo GCN on my desk will always feel like a lie...

Homebrew is the reason I'll probably never trade my Wii U in, with perfect Gamecube backwards compatibility and Virtual console injects it is a great platform for a Nintendo fan if you're prepared to tinker with it a little.

It already is. The console is relatively easy to find in working condition. The problem is that it almost always won't come with the mandatory gamepad controller. :/
The gamepad is the key to the price problem.

Definitely not worth what GameStop is paying.

they must've raised the amount when they realized nobody was bringing them there. They had the 32GB trading in for less than 100 bucks on their site prior to the deal starting

Nah, 32gb is still ~$48. I think it's just because the white one is rarer, they haven't dropped the trade-in value

Deal is dead unless GS gets another allocation before 1/22. I was hoping to sell my OG Xbox One 1TB. Alas.

Still have a Switch preordered at Best Buy though.

Question - would they even accept a Wii U without a gamepad for stupid cheap?

My old roommate's dog ravaged my old gamepad and I ended up just getting another Wii U/Gamepad altogether, so I have an extra console collecting dust

I'm pretty sure you have to have all accessories/cables included with the console. I tried trading in a Wii when I was upgrading to a Wii U and had to include my Wii-mote for them to accept it.

This deal is still alive if you're GS employee can temporarily put the credit on an existing preorder (anyone's preorder not yours) and then put the credit on a giftcard for you. Had this done at my local GS because I don't have a preorder.

Expires on the 22nd. But unless you already have a switch preorder or magically find a Gamestop that still has units to reserve, you're out of luck in getting this deal

Not necessarily.

I never trade in old systems because I love collecting them. However, I might do it this time since my Wii U is a little beat up thanks to the kids being careless. I would most likely buy a refurbished Wii U from Nintendo for the same amount anyway. Am I correct in remembering hearing that the refurbished Nintendo systems seem like new?

Also would I be able to transfer digital games to the refurbished Wii U? Don't even know if I have any digital games.

I had $50.00 down on gray Switch, Friday morning.

Realized had 2 PSVR units in different rooms, discussed decided couldnpart with one = $200.00 + $75.00 used toward Switch = paid off. I even got $3.00 + change back after tax, LoL.

Happy I was

Anyone know how long this promotion lasts? I want to do it last minute just in case but I would rather get the extra trade in value than miss it just in case they do some kind of VC upgrade program.

Its already hard to find. The $200 refurbished ones from Nintendo are basically the best value on a used Wii U. Ebay has them from $150-200, but some of them are missing the game pad and that's kind of a big problem. Add in they are no longer in production and haven't been seen in stores in months.

Wow...that's actually more than I paid for mine. Crazy deal, but I don't really know what I'd buy with the credit. Already got a switch reserved elsewhere and tons of games reserved on from the best buy visa deal.
