Wow, that's a pretty huge problem.
Obviously not on purpose, but there's no way Nintendo DOESN'T know about this problem with the press caught it in the first day or so.
The Wii Motes do the same thing. If someone stand in front of them they don't work properly

There have been no mentions of it from the dozens of hands on events. So I would say there is a very strong possibility that it was not known. I doubt Nintendo was testing signal strength at 10+ft with hands covering the joycons.
I guess I'm glad I use a monitor and sit close?
So does this mean press sneak fuck has huge hands?
You'd think they'd do distance tests. This is like a very common thing to test?
Huh.... so just... keep your hands in front of you at all times? Means you can't play while lounging on the couch.![]()
I saw someone on twitter (called Stealth?) who said that he heard from his source from NOA that this problem will be fixed before Launch.
Is he credible insider?
Omg i just remembered that the joycon can sense distance to your hands and see shapes.

How the hell will they sense when they glitch when blocked by hands ?
I mean ffs its a damn function on the controller

How could they NOT have tested this?

If Nintendo doesn't address this before lunch I'm going to cancel my preorder.
Something tells me this will be fixed shortly after launch. Then again this is Nintendo...
Because that is completely different, and uses infrared, and actually relies on the body/shape reflecting the infrared back and blocking it in a sense.
Absorption of bluetooth radio frequency by the body is basic science.
Holding your hand that far in front of it isn't going to block the radio waves as they have space to pass around your hand in different directions and reflect off of the environment.
Enclosing the controller in your hand and blocking the directions the bluetooth radio waves are transmitted in at close proximity will absorbs lots of signal strength, like putting something in a tinfoil lined box.
OP needs to add in the Bounty video and the video of Zelda where the issue happened (in the other thread).
As someone who has a fully paid off pre-order, if these issues aren't fixed over updates I'm going to be so annoyed. I wanna play ARMS but that game literally has you grasping the entire controller. Don't even wanna imagine how awful it'd be to have signal Issues in the middle of a fight.

I note that the part he covers with his hand to cause the issue is the part the wrist strap is supposed to cover.

Could it be that the strap isn't just needed for safety, but also to keep hands away from the wireless signal?
In other words, will the problem be lessened if we play with the strap attached?
It was the sixasis and it wasn't ever fixed. You guys remember when the PS3 came out and the Dualshock 3 had a shit ton of the intermittent bluetooth connection hanging?
Those got fixed with firmware updates.
Any video? No because it happens while in the grip.
