*hugs* I suck at finding words for these sorts of things, all I can think is that on the bright side one's first serious break up is probably the worst, so that must mean that it gets easier. Granted I have no idea what I'm talking about...

Sometimes when I'm feeling beaten down or demoralized, I just like to think "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger", because then it almost feels like it could be a good thing. Again, this is all bullshit speculation, but if it helps at all I don't mind speaking from a total lack of comparable experience.

In other news, i just came back from my attending a drag show for the first time in West Hollywood...and wow what an experience. so many gay men everywhere and it was not what i expected. I enjoyed myself a lot more than i thought i was going to!

Oddly enough I was the only one to react to this 5 pages later. He later clarified:

I said it has been linked with hormonal balance, but generally it is a choice commitment. I do have gay friends that managed to have relationships (and sex) with girls (hence my view). Yet they have "commited" to being homosexual only.
I do know there are people that have homosexual preferences since early childhood due to whatever form and causes it might be, but society and rationalization allow (pressure?) to some extent the contortion of said neurological/biological traits.
And if you always had said preference, you know it better than me, and thankfully you were born in an age that you are allowed to be who you are.

I may have been bland with my words in that statement, and I apologize, it's not like I have the notion that homosexuality is a mere deviation.

Basically he's saying that teenagers who have homosexual tendencies are pressured by society and rationalization into choosing to be gay.

Please not in this thread. I try to avoid those threads for a reason. I never made this choice and that's all I know and care.

I read some of that thread but I kinda stopped after this comment. I just don't understand how people come to this conclusion. It's beyond me.

You don't have to agree with my views that homsexuality is a biological/neurological trait that may or may not be pressured to change during the upbring for all the social factors you can account and sometimes said traits can be "bended", yet this is a choice the person should commit herself (if she manages to feel affection/arousal for both sexes, of course), it is okay.
But it would be nice of you to respect it since I explicitly said both times, that it was merely my perspective from my relation with my friends (occasional studies that I see for the biological part).

Other than that, thank you for the nice part!

So if you feel the need to get stuff of your chest at least know that a guy like me is going to read it. Just watched all seasons of Oz.

Damn at the Chris Keller (Christopher Meloni) and Tobias Beecher (Lee Tergesen) relationship. The show was great, but their relationship and all the shower scenes and full frontal nudity made it awesome.
 
Have any of you guys dated somebody that travels a lot? I'm talking about traveling across states and such. How do you guys feel about that kind of relationship?

Depends on the frequency and the length of time you'd have to spend away from each other. If it's for a couple of days, then sure why not.
But if it was weeks at a time, not sure I'd be willing to do it.

A friend of mine has been in a relationship for about two years with a somewhat older man who travels throughout the US regularly for business. They met online initially, later in person when his travel schedule took him nearby, and as the visits became more frequent (on personal time in addition to work) my friend decided that he felt strongly enough about this guy that he moved to Chicago and now shares an apartment with him. They do the whole Skype/phone calls/chat thing while he's on the road and spend a solid amount of time together the rest of the time. I've met the other guy a couple of times and they've definitely got a great thing going on; he's loving, respectful, faithful, and clearly isn't looking at this as some "sugar daddy" routine.

Passive aggressiveness is not something I'd advocate.

I don't really have any specific advice besides try to talk to him and tell him how you resent him for making fun of you for being a weeaboo especially since he turned out to be one too.
Or you could just drop it and enjoy weeaboo-ing together.*
