Not to mention actually make you a jackass...

Magnus said:In theory, I'd always want to have a guy tell me he's not interested, rather than hear nothing and either assume disinterest or endlessly wonder what's up.
In practice....I think I'd actually be gutted if someone said those words to me though, and in that moment would probably have wished the guy just never got back to me.
You know? =/
Agreed, totally. I guess I hope he sees it that way too.
SpaceBridge said:So in your minds eye, when you think of your dream man, what do you see?
SpaceBridge said:Wow, Im not sure if Im off tonight, but that read like such a harsh and narcissistic thing to say.
Magnus said:Haha, everyone has a physical type (or types) that work for them. I certainly have mine. I've definitely been pleasantly surprised by guys that didn't fit that type at all though, and where I thought I did feel a spark (or definitely felt one, however short-lived).
If you were fishin' for a straight physical type I'm into though....
Tall (to match my 6' in height, or taller), dark hair, and anywhere from an average build to muscular; can't do the thin/skinny type, just not for me.
As most everyone agrees though, it's the personality that's make-or-break. You just know in that first conversation or two whether there's something there, and it's really difficult to articulate and nail down. How do you tell someone that you're not sure a spark's there, and would they be willing to just keep hanging out to see if one evolves? lol. It's a like a prolonged rejection.
But yeah, if you're not physically attracted, and not mentally attracted once a date's over, it's pretty much a done deal.
...whhhaaa???Harsh and narcissistic? I was agreeing with you, haha. That I hope that he also agrees that looking for a mate doesn't have to be the only end-game to dating, and that the excitement of just making new friends and acquaintances can be a cool byproduct of dating, even if no spark's there for romance.
Cosmic Bus said:What happened to you going out to get some action this weekend, SB?
DR2K said:Well, just had my first threesome with a couple. . . It was like I always thought it would be.
Me doing nothing(like nothing, lol), feeling awkward, just watching, and running out the door as soon as possible.
I can safely cross that off my list of things to do.
SpaceBridge said:Well that puts me out of the running.![]()

SpaceBridge said:Ive had a nasty cold for the last few days. I feel gross, and stuffy. Coughing up phlegm and sneezing like crazy. Shivers and hot at the same time. Right now im in my jammies, with a hoddie surrounded by used tissue and listening to movie soundtrack music.
SpaceBridge said:Yeah, no.
royalan said:Have to disagree. Under the right conditions a threesome can be thebomb.com
Cosmic Bus said:[edit] It's still so bizarre to think that I had several firsts and lost my virginity in a stupid threesome.
SpaceBridge said:Yeah, no.
royalan said:Have to disagree. Under the right conditions a threesome can be thebomb.com
TheSeks said:You're so obviously doing it wrong. When in the right conditions a threesome is hot. Sorry you haven't had that experience to where you write it off and lalalalala like a child, dude.
SpaceBridge said:Hell, I stand corrected then. DR2K, you should try it again then. Make sure your more active though. Cant spend the whole time on your back expecting things to get then fer ya.
Magnus said:Story time!!
SpaceBridge said:Woah, girl back off. Enlighten me then with your wisdom and experience.
Actually dont, the discussion seems to have touched a nerve for me. So, Im removing myself, but dont fucking patronize.
TheSeks said:I'll stop patronizing when I stop having to call it as I see it. You haven't had a good experience, okay. But to simply write it off with a dismissive "yeah, no." Is childish and thus calling you a child.
But whatever, not my problem.
DR2K said:I guess I'm just too self centered for a threesome to enjoy it. Maybe I'll try an orgy or a gang bang next. . . nah, I'll stick to one, lol.
royalan said:Ok - so I'm nosy: what made the threesome bad?
DR2K said:I guess it's a combination of me not find the guys appealing with their clothes off, feeling like a 3rd wheel, just being inexperienced with sex in general, self consciousness, etc. . . I like intimacy and it just wasn't there, for me at least.

royalan said:Yeah, you don't really look for intimacy in a threesome. They're mostly just about sex...the sweet, sweet sex.

DR2K said:Sex without intimacy. . . not sure if I can handle that.

royalan said:You know, I have yet to meet a person who said that and genuinely meant it. Most annoying front on the planet.
If you can't do sex without intimacy...may I then ask what you were doing in a threesome in the first place? Polygamy?

royalan said:Sorry, I hope I didn't come off overtly aggressive. That statement has just always pushed my buttons.
Don't get me wrong, sex with intimacy is awesome. But more often than not I find that people who go out of their way to state that they "just can't do" sex without intimacy are, at best, excusing themselves for not having the type of sex life they secretly want; or worse, stealth claiming moral superiority over people who are more open with their sexuality.
That's a pretty cynical way to look at it. I didn't realize I couldn't prior to the threesome. You learn a lot about yourself when you do new things.
royalan said:Have you ever had intimate sex? I got the impression that you were pretty new to sex.

Is it possibly because I have a different posts-per-page setting than you? Like, would the same URL point to a different page for either of us?

Didn't saw anything "wrong" with what he said. If he posted "Sex without intimacy...lol sucks and you should burn in hell if you do"; then yeah.![]()
