Gay marriage salt thread

To be fair about the salt, this is basically America telling religious people their religion, something they base their lives around, is wrong. You'd expect them to be mad.

It's also going to get blamed for unrelated incidents in the future, which is going to be nasty.

The same thing occurred with desegregation and interracial marriage.

They will survive.

It's so fucking funny how all these idiots don't even have a rational reason for their hatred, it's always about what "God wants" and, what's moral in the eyes of God. Give me a fucking break, I'm not an atheist, but these people have such a fucked up perspective, lol. Whose God actively promotes hatred? As far as I'm concerned, Jesus Christ promoted giving love, patience, and understanding. Yet these asshats all seemed to have pulled this viewpoint out of their ass, and say it's God's will.

America is such a weird country at times. When it was legalised in the UK there was some moaning etc, mainly from the Church but nowhere, nowhere nearly as bad, offensive, dumb and ignorant as what I've seen emanating from the US. Yet, at other times it's fucking hilarious!

They've only been a country for roughly 240 years, that's a teenager among nations. Give them another 1000 to mature.

All that delicious salt~

I mean like. For those of us that believe in a God, though not necessarily the version that's depicted in just the bible and what a bunch of guys in robes (popes and pastors and such) say about him.

If God created everything, why would He/it hate gay people? Why would He/it hate anything if he created everything?

So I just chose to believe my own interpretations of God based on evidence. He/it created everything, thus He/it loves everything, otherwise why would He/it have created them? No exceptions.

Literally everything has a reason for existence, even if it may not be obvious or it may not seem distinctly positive.

I realize this post might come off as idiotic or senseless to some people, and I apologize for that. It's just how I feel. Today's news makes me happy because it means more people in the world can be happy. That, to me, seems like something God would want to have.

Here comes the hatemail in 3...2...1...

It's a much more positive way of looking at it.

But it's certainly going to be seen as an anti-religious move. Might even make religious people less patriotic, which is big there I hear.

The same thing occurred with desegregation and interracial marriage.

They will survive.

Yeah, I changed my mind about that anyway, probably got too carried away, though this does seem like a stronger anti-religious move.

There hasn't been an awful lot on my Facebook feed today. Just a couple of dumb reposts from the typical idiot relatives of mine.

By this point most sane people at least know just to shut up about it.

It's weird. I do find some of those people kind of amusing in their insane stupidity. But that Fox News clip just made me angry.
I find it funny how the guy is going on about how he won't be forced to marry gay couples - Who the hell in their right mind would ever want that idiot to officiate their wedding? You're not going to wreck what's supposed to be happiest day of your life to give him the time of day, just to prove a point!

If any UK politician or prospective politician tweeted anything like some of those Republicans are tweeting - they'd be out of their job within the hour and be un-electable for the rest of their lives.

Donald Trump's tweet doesn't make any sense. He really lives in his own world. Roberts voted against SSM recognition. What should he have done? Beat up the other five justices? Whip Ruth Bader Ginsberg with a chain?

Does anybody else think a majority of these crazy conservatives will die down once they realize literally nothing will change in their own day to day lives due to gay marriage being a thing?

Slightly offtopic, but could we stop calling it gay marriage? Marriage is defined trough the gender, not sexuality. Its same-sex marriage.
