He seems to have slept through class when majority rule and minority rights were discussed.
Dear Senator Rapert, our founding fathers also acknowledged it is not right for the majority to trample over a minority's rights simply cause they have more numbers. That's why we have a bill of rights and that's why we have the court system (That is designed specifically so the majority doesn't have a say in what the courts decide).

It hard to get an accurate number because of people who refuse to self-identify. I've seen numbers as low as that to as high as 10%. It's hard to say.
