Move Motion Plus confirmed.
The hardware should be fine, but wouldn't surprise me if the integration in the demos came a little later than other things.
Move Motion Plus confirmed.
What the fuck do they mean they can see the pixels?
Is this 1080p or what is the resolution of the current kit?
It's not really that, although it is, but it's also the lens creating focus. Check out this.

It's not a perfect simulation, of course, it's a bit of fun, but yeah, basically.Damn, AA and low persistence are seriously important based off that example.
Time for Sony to port Wipeout HD + Fury.
Do it, Sony. Don't sit on this.
I really couldn't be more pumped for VR, this and Oculus', I can't believe we're finally getting this stuff.
You know what's awesome though?
VR will promote games that emphasis 60fps, excellent image quality, responsive controls and immersion and atmosphere, over cinematic experiences, graphics instead of gameplay, cutscenes, quicktime events and more.
It's a win for everyone, even those who don't want to wear goggles.
Aren't there contexual challenges too?
Now the Move has the take into account the Morpheus to calibrate how the 'hand' should be positioned relative to the head.

IR isn't a single frequency, you can have multiple "colors" outside the range of human vision. But manufacturing a good enough camera with good separation between such a wide range of frequencies (in both the visible and non visible part of the spectrum) may not be cheap enough. From what I understand one of the benefits of having leds with different colors is it allows the camera to track say the controller and the hmd at same time.
Not sure why its annoying since you wont see any of this with the hmd on your head.
But you won't even see them. I guess people in the room with you will so if it annoys them I guess I see where you're coming from.
If i'm watching someone using it,the lights will get annoying.
Edit: This doesn't mean i won't buy it,it's just a strange little quirk i have with this stuff.
So games built for this thing will have the graphical quailty of 60fps PS3 games?
I expect sitting in a room with people wearing a full-face visor and playing videogames, will be just as annoying without the lights.
Oh boy.
You think?
I would imagine that VR would encourage spectacle over pure gameplay - lots of "look over there! Whoa, that bullet flew right by your face!"
I would say you could see more QTEs, especially if you've got games that use both VR and Move.
I really hope this becomes the case. That way, we as gamers can get the best products possible. I don't want Oculus to rush but, if they know they have something ready to roll out, then they should do so. But, if they have something cooking that is so good that they need extra time, they can do that too. But, competition is good.
I mean both are for different platforms and PCs will likely have the better experience. But who will control the VR mindshare?
It looks really cool, but I'm concerned about the headtracking issue. I had move and for some reason there was a lot of floating and calibration issues with it.
the first batch of Move games required you to calibrate often
but later titles made this less frequent... some even never asked or only asked once while playing

Every game I've ever played with it had this problem, especially light gun type games. There was severe drift. I even did that whole thing where you turn off whatever the option was in settings. I think it has more to do with room lighting or angle , which is what makes me nervous, especially for my setup. Hell I don't even know if it's possible to use under my current conditions.
I see lighting is a issue I am also a bit worried about
maybe the new camera will fix this seeing as the old camera was dreaful
I understand having to keep the prices down to reach the masses. However, considering the current power of consoles compared to PCs, if it means all we'll get is PS3 graphics in VR, I will honestly skip Morpheus and just buy a new graphics card for my PC as well as an Oculus Rift. I'd still have to try it out first though. Hopefully Sony will have demos in stores by the time this is about to be released.
Certainly there will be elements that will still well exceed what the PS3 could manage.
The one Oculus demo I played had really simple, blocky graphics with minimal AA, pixelated all to hell. And it was still awesome.
I think people are making too much of the graphics. In fact, one of the amazing things is how VR takes the simplest visuals and makes them extraordinary by making you feel like you live in that world. It really is a game changer in that graphics quality takes a backseat to fluidity.
I think we're going to have a heart attack if we keep trying to explain the difference.I think that's a bit conservative.

This is right now the main reason I favor the rift. This might sound stupid, but I was looking forward to something like a virtual observatory where you could lay down and take it all in, different positions, etc. Seems like you'll have to be in a pretty good angle of the camera. Makes sense now though why there's a lightbar on the controller for full tracking.
Ever play Endless Ocean 1 or 2 on Wii?![]()
I know it wasn't your IP, Sony, but seriously... It's now or never.
Is Carmack saying the PS4 couldn't run 720p30 PS3 games in 1080p60? I find that hard to believe, but obviously I know jack shit compared to him.
Well he's not going to actively lie, all the Oculus people have been really up about the potential of PS4's VR unit.Isn't Carmack on the rift team? I wouldn't listen to what he says lol.
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) insisted that the build available to VRFocus was merely a prototype and that it would likely undergo several changes prior to release. However, even in this earliest incarnation the headset is more lightweight and comfortable that the DK1 build of the Oculus Rift. Though a little front-heavy the mount is supported by the top of your head rather than your nose or cheeks, and in that respect its already pushing beyond the comfort of most competitor head-mounted displays (HMDs).
