I'm getting back to Genshin bit by bit and something seems off. Did they by any chance tweak with characters skin tone? I'm finding them pretty washed out and I didn't switch my TV settings at all.

Or maybe I got super comfy with my PC screen, which isn't even HDR, and my eyes are tricking me.

By the way, it's getting close to 5.0, so I'm probably going to have the mods pull the thread out of Community for a few weeks like we did for Fontaine. I feel like GAF has gotten a little more accepting of gacha games over the past year, so we might get some new faces. The ZZZ thread gets a decent amount of replies.

Sitting with over 100 draws while waiting for the next archon. I need to decide on a new character to join Zhongli in C6-ville. Out of my friendship-leveling standard party, Jean is getting C3 free with the update (and I'm not going to aim for a standard-banner character), meaning my main DPS (C0 Yoimiya) or off-field DPS (C0 Yae Miko) are the likely options. While I do really like Yae...those turrets make her an aggro magnet in multiplayer dungeons, which is annoying. Conversely, Yoimiya's elemental skill means there's down-time in her rotation; it's fine for solo content (as that's when I can refresh the turrets for Miko, or put up a new shield if I'm running Zhongli), but it's less great in multiplayer.

I'd consider Navia, since she's ridiculously hard-hitting for C0, but having a 2nd geo C6 seems like a mistake. Furina (C0) is a character I don't mind taking in to multiplayer, since she does heal, while not feeling limited to slashing at your opponent's ankles (a la Qiqi).

Other 5-stars I have: Clorinde (C0), Dehya (C0), Diluc (C2), Eula (C1), Ganyu (C0), Kequing (C2), Klee (C0), Mona (C0), Nahida (C0), Nilou (C0), Qiqi (C2), Raiden Shogun (C0), Tartaglia (C1), Tignari (C0), Venti (C0), Wriothsley (C0). Curious to see GAF's recommendations.

If you're trying to go C6, 100 wishes is nowhere near enough. But out of the ones you listed, the biggest "improvements" from low constellations to high is Shogun/Tartaglia(mostly outdated)/Eula (outdated). I don't know about Chlorinde.

If you really want a powerhouse that will let you steamroll, well... anything, it's Arlecchino. Even C2 is overkill. Also Nahida is a great high constellation investment, or whover your favorite DPS is.

Apparently Bilibili, basically the YouTube of China is allowing any content to pass filter as long as you include "Genshin bad" or something like that in the title. Users caught wind of it and started uploading mass amounts of HoYo flavored porn. Porn is supposedly punishable in CN by like 5 years prison? I dunno, I'm reading this 3rd hand. But TL;DR is that the anti-HoYo sentiment is reaching an all time high in preparation for 5.0. I wouldn't go too far into the comments because you'll just see redditors arguing that it's WuWa fans or paid shills doing the negative PR swing. Anyways, what a mess lol.

I have no fucking clue. I think fans of this type of game are eating incredibly good right now. WuWa has fantastic gameplay and is slowly coming into its own instead of being a Genshin carbon copy, I'm more excited for Genshin than I've been since swimming was revealed for Fontaine, even ZZZ is a lot more fun than I was expecting. RIP my time, but as far as having fun, high quality (free) games, we've never been in a better spot. I liken it to GAF's obsession with console wars despite the sad, sorry state of AAA console gaming.

Well I'm going to try to C6 Mavuika when she releases, but there are a bunch of great Natlan designs between now and then, so who knows how things are gonna go for me. I have just under 100 wishes currently, but I've only done quests and exploration of about 25% of Fontaine

So now my dilemma is do I just rely on the ugly dinosaur gremlins or pick up Mualani for Natlan mechanics. I do like her design quite a bit, and it's hard to stare down new version/anniversary hype and not roll on anything, so I'll probably end up snagging a copy.

Probably not gonna be any way around swiping when Archon time comes.

I already C6'd Childe/Eula/Shenhe and most of the standard banner 5*s, so I'm aware of the cost. Luckily I'll have the top up bonus reset and refunds from pretty much any dupe 4* I pull to buy more fates. I just gotta hope the 50/50 is kind.

So I just started that soon expiring battle event. Man I fucking hate that type where you have to set up multiple teams and buffs for each team for every stage of the event. The goddamn setup takes longer than the battle stuff does, and for what? The event disappears and you'll never see those mechanics again. I really dislike battle events in Genshin more and more as time goes on.

I was pretty hype for Capitano until he was revealed without his coat. He's just the normal Diluc-type beanpole character and he's got a mullet, so I'm back to not giving a shit. Pretty much guarantees we aren't ever getting the 3rd male character model (buff adult), so meh. I'm guessing it's gonna end up being Kaeya's dad.

3/4 of my team was the same across all 3 teams. Did the Atk +15% and the boost if you had a shield each round. Never made it to 5000 on a round but got my primos and ran.

Just saw these early character reviews on YouTube:


Kachina sounds a bit disappointing. Seems like she's just a placeholder for the new artifact set. Once Xilonen releases, she will likely lose any reason to exist (except maybe in IT). Still gonna build her though.


From this video I gather that Mualani is strong, but could use different teammates to make her rotations more comfy. Future Natlan characters will likely fix this.

Finally somebody else on GAF that likes the mode. They're already on their way to ruining it, though. Next iteration has 2 more floors and boss HP is getting almost doubled.

Also, with that quest, I fucking agree. Not only was it kinda shitty in and of itself, it also directly fucks up all of the progress we made in Dain quests up until that point. Like why even have us recover the eye of the first tiller if they were just give it to the abyss twin a few quests later anyways.

Dain quests used to be interesting from a lore perspective and pushed the story forward, that one literally removed progress.

Dude completely remodeled her (and gave her almost double poly count) but not in the usual "just give her humongous T&A" or "make her really fat" way that mods usually go. Like this would be an amazing default adult body style for females. Fully modular and you can pick any number of options on how it looks.

ZZZ and Star Rail have both already proven that having different sized character models doesn't bloat the game size or make it explode. I know HoYo has to make sure the game can play on shitty phones, but still.

I actually never tried to redeem a code on PS before, but google says (from in game):

on PS5 or PS4, then you need to bring up the main Paimon menu using the Options button. From there select Settings > Account > Redeem Code.

Leakers are saying that there's nothing under his mask in the current models available for him, so either HoYo is keeping it a surprise at a model level or this version will never be playable. Matches up with older leaks saying that he wouldn't be playable in 5.x but Columbina will be.

Yup. You only need to loose once for the guarantee now, not twice.

No changes to standard banner other than confirmation that they will be adding more standard 5 star characters.

So Xilonen is a blacksmith. I'd like it if she was the actual blacksmith we can go to in Natlan.

There were some rumors Iansan might be included in 5.1 as a 4-star, but I guess those were wrong. Feels a bit lacking to have only one new character in 5.1, but I guess it makes some sense to leave that for 5.2 when they release new areas/tribes. I hope this means she isn't a standard 5-star. Can't imagine them releasing only one character with the reduced value of being a standard.
