Ghost of Yoti New Gameplay Trailer

Way too similar to the first, and the visual evolution is barely there

I hope it does not sell that well in order to send a message to Sony that we don't want copy paste sequels no more (I am doubtful though unfortunately)

I don't know what you guys see good in this. If this would have been shown by any other dev, would have been trashed.
Do you know of what it reminds me, animations and graphics? Of Wo Long, a game no-one remembers.

Looks hyper generic. The best thing about GoT was it's animations, and it looks like they didn't even improve them for the sequel, even though its coming out half a decade later, and aimed at "next gen" only.

You look at this, and then watch some phantom blade gameplay, and this looks so outdated. I am also expecting everyone to be just pulling every enemy with the hook, and one shot them. So fun.

Animation work isn't feeling as polished as PS4 era titles (Tsushima)

Looks like they have cut budget in major way. Not a complaint BTW.
imo animations is the best part of the game.

What's stuck in the PS4 era for Sony 1st party games is the lightning from the games, it's like they are 10 years behind from the companies with the best looking games, and lightning is too important nowadays.

AI is also laughably bad but studios like ND are very good there so..

Looks ok. No better or worse than your typical action game.

What should be noted is how bad the AI is. Character runs around a small encampment and slashing everyone. And despite all the noise, nobody notices.

This is worse than when I played one of the Splintercell demos on 360 and you could kill a guy. And 20 ft away another guy just stands there and rotates 90s degrees at a time.

And Team Ninja games, like Wo-long, have some of the best combat animations in the industry. Shouldn't be a slight

Yeah that's an area we need improvement on big time. So many games have boring static worlds with shit AI.

serious question: if it was suddenly announced that, along with ghost of yotei, sucker punch would also simultaneously be releasing a new infamous game, which of the 2 would you be more excited about?...

What were you expecting? A kart racer?

Snow environments almost always look poor in games, especially when your "snow" is just a flat texture on the ground. You need to be out of touch to showcase your game in circumstances like these.

Nice finishing move animations, but the rest of the game between this and the last deep dive just looks boring and generic. A different flavor of ubislop. Pass.

That's always a big issue in games like this.

In shooters, you can be Arnold Schwarzenegger mowing down endless enemies like it's nothing, but at least the enemies usually come after you and spray you with bullets.

In slower paced action games (esp stealthy based games), the AI enemies will have worse perception and awareness than COD. It's like every enemy has a tight 20 ft awareness radius around them and they only see you in line of sight. As I sit at home typing, I'll notice something outside 100+ ft away if it makes noise like my neighbour across the st who works on his car sometimes, or people across the street talking and laughing.

And they rarely rally the troops either if an enemy is red alerted. The games seem built where every level has zones where a guy or two patrols one radius totally independent of another radius. And they dont interact with each other.

Does look like the PS4 game but I guess this is the price of 60fps.

Also the game has that going back in time mechanic, if that's all the time? I have no idea.

Lighting looks like complete shit. Those who bitch about RT should want that game to have it.
RTGI would have made huge difference for this game but you can find some peoples who don't know anything about game graphics tech make bullshit theards attacking ray tracing tech lol,

What I was thinking. There should have been a 30fps mode with RTGI.

When you compare it other games twenty years ago it's just so bad.

Sure Splinter Cell AI was very wonky, but they would notice things like doors left open, lights on when they weren't before, other guards missing, etc.

The newest Hitman actually does a pretty good job on AI reaction and perception to the player, but in the fun Hitman kind of way they also will drag bodies through rooms full of NPCs and won't notice pools of blood and the VIP missing.

Only select areas where there is a memory to be experienced. So no, it isn't because they are running two worlds in parallel all the time, if that's what you are wondering. Having dynamic ToD in an open world with baked lighting will always have weaknesses. I'd imagine snow covered noon-ish time would be the worst case scenario as it makes everything seem flat. Could have looked wayyy better with RT/PT, but alas, we are probably a generation away from that happening on Sony titles.

I loved the first game. At this point I think I am just tired of these open world games where you mostly just travel from camp and camp and clear out braindead AI. She flings a giant chain at a dude and cuts him up, and the guy a few feet away doesn't even notice because his back is halfway turned around.

All these games have just started to feel the same.

Ubisoft formula is so tired by this point

That.. looked akin to a QTE sequence. Everything was so lovingly placed 🤷‍♂️

Infact, the more I think about it, the more I just want an updated original Tenchu

Sony, do the right thing after this game comes out.
