Ghost of Yoti New Gameplay Trailer

Is that a rhetorical question? Because if you spend anytime reading through people's reactions and opinions here you'd know it does matter and people are sick of playing as a chick with every fucking AAA game that is being released. Maybe read the room before having a meltdown 🤷
Every AAA game? Reaaaaaally? Dude are your feelings so featherweight? And And why are female leads a bad thing? Females are now a woke symbol? How many male protag has there been since the beginning of gaming? You "anti-woke" are just as bad as the woke crew. This is getting annoying and stale at the point.

Make a compelling case against the games. Having a female protag should not be one of them. That is just childish behavior. What's next? Too many animal protags? Grow up, seriously.

Unless Sucker Punch pulls a miracle out of their ass they are cooked.

Where are the towns? Does the game even have a town? A city? What activities are there? What can we do in this huge open world? What improvements have they made since the last game aside from adding three weapons? They worked on this for five years, when are they going to show what they've been working on all this time?

I don't know if this is just terrible marketing or if they really don't have anything else to show but man after two trailers and a state of play this is not looking great.

Will buy it in 6 months to a year in a sale. Around 50% off will make me hit the buy button.
Not this games fault, but I'm in no hurry to play single player games with my backlog.

I'll always give props to any game featuring a kusarigama. Cool. Not really blown away by anything here but it looks sorta fun. I'd get it on sale eventually. Looks like another very similar game. $20 and I'd go for it.

I do have to admit though, I was a bit bored before the end of the video. I bailed on part 1 at the start of act 3. Might bail on this one at the start of act 2.

No dog game play?

This still looks like a game that can be release on base PS4.
And that's exactly why it's useless to salivate over "next gen" every few years because with all the power available now to devs this is what they do with it.

Anyways, it looks fine. Most of the user base will be happy with it as is.

Today was the first time I had a "holy shit" moment when looking at graphics on PS5 and it was the BF6 beta.... this is just... not enough.

Also, ballsy for Sony to stick with the "Play Has No Limits" motto when it seems like first party games hit their gameplay limits on PS4.

Looks ok. No better or worse than your typical action game.

What should be noted is how bad the AI is. Character runs around a small encampment and slashing everyone. And despite all the noise, nobody notices.

This is worse than when I played one of the Splintercell demos on 360 and you could kill a guy. And 20 ft away another guy just stands there and rotates 90s degrees at a time.

This.

I'm sure it will be a good game, but this is a massive gripe for me. The Ai in the first game was so bad, I literally just stopped doing stealth. It never really felt rewarding cause its like ,if the Ai is this dumb, who cares? Playing The Last Of Us 2 prior didn't help as that game had fucking dogs smelling for you and entire packs of people that knew when someone was missing and would start to investigate. I get they can't get all that shit in the first game as that is a tall order, but to not correct any of that in the sequel to make the Ai smarter to add some challenge is suspect and has this game feeling like a copy - paste, repeat type of game.

The Last Of Us 1 to 2 is a massive step up in gameplay, Ai etc

Ghost Of Tsushima to Yotei feels like DLC...

Looking at this game right now 2 months from release, I don't want to hear shit about AC Shadows being some "copy and paste" of any past AC title. Right now, that is the example of how you actually do a new gen sequel. Destruction added, real time weather system added, new ai added that factors light and shadow, sound etc, prone added and more. That is how you do a sequel.

I'll still get it day 1 and I'm sure I'll enjoy it for what it is, but its looking like AC Shadows is the new tier and the one to beat for Ninja / Samurai type concept. Those elements are bare minimum imho if someone is making an light RPG like this.
The spent 5 years to add one new weapon to the game
smh, I'm saying. A few generations ago, we would just except this as some side game, not an entire sequel, new entry etc If it was another game with Jin, like some side thing, I'd be ok, but this is a new character, new time frame, I expect more from a sequel like this and I don't think I'm asking too much for more destruction, more interaction with the world, better Ai, more ways to travel etc

I'm still awating for some showcase on THE PROTAGONIST and why I should care about her revenge story.

To me it's odd that being a story-focused game (despite having lot of action) Atsu is no more of an avatar than Link.

Then, some people say most only pay attention to her looks instead of her personality. I'd love to see any of that.

You do what you want of course but should not get it day one imho, this type of low effort should not be rewarded

Why the camera is so close to the character? it's like rotating a window of a tank to find where are the enemies. Combat looks fun and fast.
It's an optional visual mode in the game. After this snippet, I'm convinced it's not the way to play it. May be useful for some screenshots or clips, but that's about it.

There is some extra fluidity in Tsushima that I don't see here.

Yotei seems like something lower budget like Avowed.

They have cut the budget and rock textures are the proof of it.

BTW, for me its hardly a concern. I prefer games with instant response that are inherently poor in animations.

That looks great! I really should go back to playing Tsushima. I think I just played 20 hours or so, started over after the PC version and played even less. What should I do to stay interested? Should I just push forward in the main story?

I have myself not finished it. 😂

Played at my acquaintance for a few hours.

Either it clicks or it doesn't. Forcing or talking yourself into playing has never worked. After all, it's a hobby that's supposed to be fun, not a chore that has to be done.

Yeah but I was truly wowed at first, it's just not grabbing me when I'm free to go anywhere. Maybe it's better to just focus on the main quest?

Will play it at somepoint, probably wait for the PC release but it dosnt wow me, I feel this started as a Miles Morales style stand alone expansion.

Remember when a parent or teacher would say something like 'Oh and if your friends jumped off a cliff would you do that too??' The AC Flop and Ghost of Wokei situation reminds me of this.

You can try, but my experiences with games like Days Gone, AC Valhalla, or Horizon Zero Dawn have shown me that it didn't do me any good. All these games grabbed me in the first few hours too, but that didn't last. At some point, I was just glad the games were over, and in the future, I'll simply quit such games.

Nah. In terms of animation quality, it's the same. Better than AC, worse than GoW, much worse than Sekiro and well behind ND. Someone at SP thought they could pull off a SunhiLegend style combat snippet and all the seams are showing. At least there are enough new weapons (and hence new animations) and rag-dolling. I would be dumping on it too, if not for that. I'm still excited for gameplay possibilities with the new weapons since there appears to be more depth than just cosmetics and rock-paper-scissors. And I'm sure the dumb AI would still be a lot more enjoyable at lethal difficulty.

Given Intergalactic is melee focused, I expect it to set the new standard for fluid melee combat animations. Just that one tiny snippet with how the enemy robot deals with weight transfer and the multiple arms changing grip of the sword handle says it all. Only Rockstar pays attention to that kind of detail, but their games end up controlling like absolute trash, while ND somehow still pulls it all off. GoY, is nowhere near any of that. But that's also par for the course. Infamous had great traversal, but the animations were pretty janky and the NPC animations were absolutely awful. AI and animations are just not their strength.
Where did you saw the ragdolling?

Pretty sure they still use all precanned animation with no ragdoll like sushima (and all their games really)

I enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn til the end, thought it was underrated. But haven't finished Forbidden West, or AC Valhalla (but that was mostly because I didn't like that it felt like I was the villain burning villages etc). I have Days Gone but haven't started it…
So yeah I can relate.

Open world games is my thing though, but many games get repetitive or lack challenge or have a world I'm just not interested to "live in".

One of the rare (and maybe odd) examples where I never wanted to leave was AC Odyssey. It was repetitive and full of bloat etc yadayadayada… But the world itself was just amazing to get lost in with all the nice vistas and sunny weather and clear water! Absolutely loved it!

Then came Valhalla. Snow, rain, dark and moody, brown water. Bleh!

Eventually I need to check out AC Shadows when it's on sale or goes up on Gamepass. Who knows, might be my thing.

People are hating on this game just to hate. Comparing this game to linear and static games like phantom blade zero and ninja gaiden 4 is just dumb. Those 2 games aren't open world nor do they have npc's that move around the environment as you explore. They're not as complex meaning it's easier to make them look good because they're linear.

Having an open game world is nothing special now.

Do you go around excusing Avowed or Horizon Zero Dawn for the lack of environmental interactivity and npc reactions because of an open world?
No you say that this was done better in 14yo Skyrim on Xbox360 and BOTW on weakass Switch and WiiU.

And enemy awareness when something is in their line of sight or within hearing range is nothing new in open world games.

There are always games around that has solved all things people complain about. You can say that it's not the same type of game or the dev has had a different focus, but in the end it's still going to be a glaring issue. Might not be that for you but for those who care about it, and it's a good thing that people talk about it or we'll see normalized degression of game mechanics.

too many ugly women in games , don't care. I'll just play Ninja Gaiden 4 or Phantom blade zero instead
Yeah bro, games are our things, we should only have space marines with huge jaws and huge muscles to admire, wimmin should be cooking and cleaning. We're all incredibly good looking so that's why it bothers us if a video game character is not as hot as the harem of supermodels that flock around us in real life amirite
