Unless ME:A has an amazing story and combat, it's gonna be forgotten in a week.

So as someone who played ME1 for like 10 minutes before realizing I wanted nothing to do with it, what do people play Mass Effect for? Because with the jankiness, the boring combat, and the glitches, I always assumed it was the story, the character interactions, the writing, and the world that pulled people in. But with ME: A, the people that are enjoying it are saying things like, "eh I don't mind that the writing is bad", "oh that's just typical Bioware character animations", "oh yeah the story is hammy but that's not the reason I'm playing". So why do people like this series? Because this from an outside perspective, this seems like me saying, "Yeah the new Mario game has pretty bad platforming, but that's not why I'm playing it"
The series went through a transformation. Further into action game with every release. So you have fans of all aspects of the game.So as someone who played ME1 for like 10 minutes before realizing I wanted nothing to do with it, what do people play Mass Effect for? Hot take. Mass Effect was never good.
Bioware had some pretty significant brain drain after ME2, didn't they?
Yeah, their games have had glaring issues for almost this entire decade. It's kinda crazy.Bioware had some pretty significant brain drain after ME2, didn't they?

The Live look on ME:A killed any hype I had for that game, it destroyed it. And I enjoyed both 1 and 2 very much, even enjoyed the third a bit, but this one looks rough as dicks.
I'm eagerly awaiting the ME sex gifs because if people look this bad walking....
What happened to Bioware, guys? Did the one guy with good ideas leave after ME2 or what? This is a fucking tragedy. Bioware used to be one heck of a name in the business, but now it just leaves behind a foul aftertaste.
Man, what kind of dicks have you encountered?

How will you feel if they turn out really well?
I'd feel bad.

It feels like the court of public opinion is already hanging it.
But I'll say again, I really enjoyed the bit I actually played.
For better or worse it felt like mass effect.
But I also really liked all of Mass Effect 3 including the end. I was so excited to hop online and read other peoples reactions...and then was shocked when I felt so differently. So don't listen to me.

I hate to admit it, but Dan and I mostly share the same taste in games. We were born days apart, so maybe that has something to do with it.*Vinny scream*
At like $20, sure.ME multiplayer is worth price of admission.

Can't wait for another F&F tomorrow.
Speaking of which, there's a moving company in Portugal that is heavily "inspired" by the series, so to speak, complete with a Vin Diesel look-alike owner.
The name?Fast&Serious
