I always do mashing sequences by rapidly alternating presses with my thumbs. Makes most of them super easy, and takes much less effort than mashing with one finger.

I'm usually pretty good with button mashing. I only recall one instance where I was nearly broken by it - Chrono Trigger DS.

The drinking contest in the beginning destroyed my thumb as I alternated between so many techniques until I finally beat it by letting my thumb slide back and forth over the buttons. It was on a DS phat so no rounded edges on the buttons.

Totally worth it.

FWIW, really appreciate the spoiler tags for the MGS stuff. Haven't played or heard about anything past MGS1, so this GB feature is great.

Totally buying that HD collection if Drew gives up.

Btw if you go to the download for part 5 of the series, and change both 04 (date) in the url to 15, and the part number to 07, you can download the latest mgs video.

Probably the best place to ask this, but I'm curious as to what those of you who may be subscribers to GB think of the content they produce for paid members?

I only recently started listening to Giant Bomb with any regularity but I am really becoming a pretty interested in possibly signing up for a membership but I'm not sure if they produce enough stuff to warrant the sub.

When it comes to their Premium content, it's more about quality than quantity, generally speaking. On average, they put out 3 Premium videos every week. A Friday show (Unprofessional Fridays) and then stuff from ongoing series, currently Metal Gear Scanlon (Drew & Dan playing through the original MGS) and Demo Derby (same team checking out old PS1 demo discs). But just last week, we also got an amazing retro stream featuring the Philips CD-i. A new Mario Party Party is also supposed to happen soon. Then there'll also be stuff from GB New York soon once they get going again. Judging from their first attempts at Premium stuff, we can expect amazing things out of that office. There's also Premium podcasts on movies, wrestling and F-1 which are all worth listening to if you're interested in the subject.

I think you'll get your money's worth *especially* since you will have a huge archive full of amazing stuff to dig through. We're more than happy to give you a few pointers on where to start.

Considering it's less than $1/week, the content output is good, and you'll also have a massive backlog to get through during quiet weeks.

It's also much, much better content that the regular faceless quick look stuff. Honestly, if I wasn't a member, I'd hardly ever visit the site.

Awesome thanks,

Like I said I only really started listening to GB recently because I really like their quick looks, and I happen to really like when Jeff, John, Dave get together. I also listen to both the Bombcast and Scoops in the AM quite a bit now also.

A video I saw recently was the guys getting together to play Mario party and I could'nt stop laughing which I think is probably what might have push me to really consider subbing.

You will need to watch every Breaking Brad videos once you're a premium member. That and Load our Last Souls are a must. Also, of course: Metal Gear Scanlon and Mario Party Party.

That Volgarr the Viking joke from Brad to Vinny in that first video is still the absolute funniest shit to have ever happened on that site. I still cannot believe Brad actually said that, lol. Someone less diplomatic than Vinny would have punched him in the face.

The premium content can be a bit irregular at times but recently there's been at least two or three premium videos a week and at least one premium podcast (the F1 racing one, the other two premium podcasts are usually about one a month or so). There's a huge back catalog of stuff as well so you'll have plenty of videos to watch if you become a member. Most of my favorite GB moments are from premium videos, I absolutely get my money's worth I think.

Not sure how this went unnoticed.

Is spray cheese and popcorn even a thing in the US? Or is Dan just in desperate need of an adult?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I think Brad bought him lunch for that. I was playing my Vita with that on in the background the first time I saw it and actually dropped the Vita into my lap when he said that. So awkward.

Series where Vinny picks up his Dark Souls save about halfway through and plays to the end, including DLC. Matt and Ian sit in for most of it. There's also a play through of Demon's Souls by Brad, lots of premium Souls content went down last year.

The Giant Bombcast is good enough that I subscribe just to support that. Everything else is a bonus.
