Button mashing isn't exactly a useful video game skill. Unless you're planning on entering the Olympics/Asura's Wrath/Cookie Clicker esports scene.

Don't worry, my profile says I'm a cop.

Watching this metro redux video.. Clearly these games are not for Dan. He always manages to make me laugh though, just out of his stubborn opinions and general lack of information, and admitting proudly that he doesn't know stuff.

eeeeeeh. Even then you can heal so much in between each "session".

But the game never tells you that. If you think those periods are the only chance you get to rest your hands between mashings it becomes much harder. I would have gotten the bad ending but I read that tip online when I couldn't believe how hard it was.

I always just give up during the sequence because I think it makes for a better story that feeds into MGS2 much better. Then stupid MGS4 had to come along.

Plus the Bonus item on your second playthrough is so much cooler if you fail.

MGS2 could work either way.

I dont think they mention Meryl once in that game?

But yeah. Then MGS4 came along and picked a ending and made Meryl have weird man shoulders.

Pretty sure they don't, but (MGS 1 Ending Spoilers)
Otacon's and Snakes interactions and start of a friendship in the "bad" ending sets up the start of Philanthropy more easily then them last speaking before the REX fight and him driving off with Meryl in my opinion.

(MGS1/2 ending spoilers)

Also, it more directly explains how Snake has infinite ammo when he meets up with Raiden inside Arsenal Gear

I guess Dan's the Karl Pilkington of Giant Bomb
I have no idea who Karl Pilkington is. But based on the number of times I've seen this very same comment in these threads, this must me the funniest damn joke in the world.

What was the name of that side scrolling barbarian game that Vinny played on, I believe, UPF once? If someone cold link me to that video, that'd be great.

Ugh, all this button mashing talk reminds me of
the probe
qte in south park: the stick of truth. I was stuck there for quite some time, and had to game the system (by using the controller and keyboard at the same time) to pass it. The Sheva side of the final boss in re 5 also had a very hard one. Fuck button mashing qte, they are complete bullshit.

Reading through the last couple of pages thinking everyone was referring to the old Gamespot feature had me super confused.

Button Mashing the show was great. The game mechanic is pretty bad.

Maaaan, I set an alarm to wake me up and everything.

Maybe I should re-evaluate my life a little bit until it goes up.
