Anyone can say anything about anybody on the Internet. On top of that, who gives a shit in this thread. She's been rad on all GB appearances.

Also, grandfather would be Drew cause we'd do crazy experiments my hypothetical parents wouldn't let us get away with like GoPro drones and cooking with gasoline.

If half of what that guy says is true, then I have little sympathy for her. Ugly stuff.

It doesn't really matter. Publicly humiliating her like that is unacceptable. What happened between them should have stayed between them, not the entire world. What he's done is made worse by the fact that he did this knowing full-well that:

1) there's already a good portion of internets asshole who insult her regularly for the simple fact that she is associated with video games and happens to have a uterus

2) she suffered/suffers from depression.

What lead him to do this is irrelevent to me. She might have done something reprehensible, but that's between them. Him putting all of it on the Internet for me and the rest of the world to see and possibly "side with him" ? Very reprehensible.

edit: anyways, I'm not discussing this any longer.

Also watching an old UPF i finally realized why you guys were so hyped about a fucking fridge, you fuckers sent that fridge! Who sent it and why? also it must have cost some money.

vben came up with the idea as a gift for Rorie after he had to deal with the GB community with Dan's hiring flack and Samantha on the podcast. A few of us pitching in a few bucks and got it for him.

Zoe Quinn stuff seems messed up. If the kotaku bit is true then that might be the only thing worth talking about on here though.

Reditt will have fun with the rest I guess.

guys

I can't wait for the Metal Gear Solid ER. That's all I'm thinking about right now. No other piece of Giant Bomb content interests me anymore.

I need this.

When do you think it'll happen ?

what about sleeping dogs

i like sleeping but dogs ?

1 month. Big Live Live Show Live: Dan plays Metal Gear Solid the entire time.

Well, releases start up in October and then calm down again by December, but that's Game of the Year time.

So I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if it didn't happen until the new year.

Then again, Dan has been really excited to do things (they made a comment during the Mario Party video that they approached Jeff about that idea and he seemed wishy-washy and was surprised they just went ahead and did it which makes me think there's an attitude of "Eh, we can just do it later" that prevented a lot of videos from getting done there), so maybe they'll fit it in between their quicklooks.

It could be great. MGS has enough random military and Cold War bullshit being tossed around that Drew could really like it or really hate it because it turns out all that stuff in that game was inaccurate.

ASAP (I hope).

I've only played the PS1 MGS, and I've always been curious about the crazy story but not enough to actually play the games. If Dan delivers on nagging Drew enough to play every game, that'll be a perfect way to catch up on them.

With the standard way GB covers games, I am starting to wonder, do 'busy' seasons really make much of a difference still? It's not like they do previews, TNT's, and podcasts about the big releases any more. It all seems to blur into one consistent style of covering games (aside from trade shows and console launches of course)

They were doing multiple Load Our Last Souls streams per week during last year's big release season, and there were consoles getting put out then.

Remember the teasing that lead up to the Deadly Premonition ER? That was pretty nuts. Actually, the part where they had the balls to do two simultaneous Endurance Runs was pretty insane too.

MGS1 would be a pretty easy game to ER.

It would be around 10 hours 1th time through. They would definetly need to play more then the 1th game if they wanted it to last more then 2 weeks.

BUT it will be subscriber content thats done every now and again over the course of a few months so I guess MGS1 could be a months worth of content if they average a hour a week of video.

I don't know if it'll be subscriber content, but regardless of what it's called, I doubt it will be posted daily like past ERs. Two per week would be ideal. And I hope they indeed label it as "Endurance Run". I said it before: I want Dan Ryckert to take the torch of making Endurance Runs. He was the Replay guy at Game Informer; he's perfect for the job.

Regardless of what's true, that shit should've remained private. None of our business etc.

And yeah, they confirmed that the MGS series will be Premium on the podcast.

Wait, they're going to do an MGS Endurance Run? For reals?

Yes. It was confirmed on the latest bombcast. Drew will play and Dan will ride shotgun. They will do this seriously by attentively watching the cutscenes. Dan wants Drew to like the series. Dan wants to do the entire series, but Drew is unsure. All that is confirmed is a complete playthrough of Metal Gear Solid.

The original Metal Gear Solid is great and all but I'm really looking forward to them getting to MGS 2. The first just scratches the surface of Kojima insanity. Drew playing the last few hours of the sequel for the first time, unspoiled, should be interesting. Too bad he'll probably not experience the old Raiden switch-a-roo. I'm sure he's heard about that already.

It won't be an "endurance run" but instead something like Brad/Vinny's Demon's/DMC runs where they play through a couple hours each week but yeah, Dan/Drew seem serious about starting it.

Ohhh, gotcha. That sounds brilliant. Hopefully they do all the games, including the MSX ones seeing as they're on MGS3 HD.

I might totally play along with Drew if/when he starts with MGS.

That is a lot to ask of

the internet.

Yeah, that is my secret hope, as well. Dan made it sound like he doesn't much care about ever trying those. Hopefully Drew's curiosity will make a difference here.

I want to see them play MGS3 and Peace Walker and Dan wholeheartedly accept all of this completely anachronistic Cold War technology as actual historical fact while Drew's laughs get more and more annoyed as he keeps hearing "HEAURGH, THIS [1980s technology] MUST BE A PROTOTYPE"

Can't wait for it. When the plot twists start hitting them non-stop, Drew's mind will be blown.

It's a shame because Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake is a fantastic game that has aged extremely well. I played it for the first time two years ago, right after beating the original game. My mind was blown away at how avant-gardist the game was. The game was released in 1990, before the SNES even came out, and the game has the depth of a 2008 XBLA game.

odds on how many times dan will attempt to explain a plot twist to drew, only for every comment section, tweet, and message board in existence to tell him that he completely misinterpreted the plot

i'm saying about 8 times if they do the whole series

With Drew being interested in military stuff this is the main reason i would want to see this.

he already showed some of it while looking at the demo. LOL

Since Dan's mantra is knowing either everything or nothing about a subject and MGS seem to be in the everything camp, I think he'll do pretty good. Probably a couple of bad interpretations since the plot in the later games get so insanely convoluted.

I hope they bring in a third man yo share in the insanity though, would love to hear Jeff relive the madness that is MGS4.
