I've tried VR at some EGX conventions in the UK. Experience was great, but I feel compelled to wait for a final a '2nd/3rd consumer version' before I bite the bullet.

What device did you use? When was it?

If the answers are not "Vive/Oculus" and "very recently," your experience is not representative of the state of VR.

Oh I don't mean the VR I used was terribly bad. I mean I don't want to buy a piece of technology twice i.e. I usually wait on products for a long time before purchasing I can buy the optimum version at the optimum time.

Jeff's demo was not interactive at all. And if you watch the video from the presentation, you can see the guy on stage missing his cues too and the demo goes on before he makes any faked action to control it. And Jeff also mentioned that if you wave your hand in front of the glasses, the image always goes on top of your hand, which the stage demo clearly implied was not the case when he reached down "into" the image.

Jeff mentioned an interactive game they let him play with it where stuff came out of the walls and he was ducking and moving around to shoot the stuff, which he said was fun. That demo was interactive.

I'd have to rewatch the video. I only recall Brad saying the hand thing with the waypoint, which he said made sense since waypoints go through stuff in Halo as well; so i'd have to hear another instance of that to know if it's a universal thing or was just for that one Halo demonstration on purpose. I feel like Jeff and Brad are skeptical enough (they voice skepticism during the conference) to where they'd have tried to break it and the illusion when they got the demo. The fact that both and Dan were very impressed makes me believe it a bit, I have no reason to assume MS is using all smoke and mirrors until there's proof.

Ah, ok. My statement still stands though.

I'm full-in on VR at this point. I "saw the light" with my DK2, and am spending an absurd amount of money this month on a new GPU in preparation of the Vive and then probably the Oculus too.

Burnie Burns, Greg Miller and John "The Chicago Sunroof" Drake up next it looks like. Burnie is a Roosterteeth guy, right?

Yep. Jeff was on a Youtube Gaming segment that he hosted yesterday, and they actually had a really good dynamic. Should be a fun segment, especially with Miller & Drake. (And probably Dan)

OH GOD RORIE DON'T KILL JASON HE'S GOING TO BE A FATHER
