Huh, first time I heard of alex being a regular pot user.

Also let's try to not get too personal when talking about the staff?

I don't know what you people are talking about! These comments look fine to me.

The live Youtube chat during Friday's stream was out of control. Repeatedly calling Brad fat, how the site's gone to shit, hating on Patrick and doing the same to Austin, using words I dare not mention. I mean I get it, it's Youtube, but it was a very bad place to be if you were a fan.

Fucking lol. He's not even anywhere near E3 this year.

But there's a reason I use ImprovedTube for Chrome. Disable everything on the page except for the title box (in case I want to read the description), and make the video fit the window.

The YouTube comments are crazy, especially because I thought the guys seemed quite positive last night.

I rewatched the Bethesda conference with the Giantbomb guys watching just now, they're pretty positive overall but their constant race to be the first to make a witty/snarky remark is extremely tiring. They try to be clever at everything that happens, I too thought it was annoying and I've been watching the GB guys for many years.

I can see people not liking that one bit.

Yeah people are getting too personal about Alex.

It's OK to say that he's better in longer formats like podcasts than live situations without running down the guy's mental state. Jesus.

I understand where the YouTube commenters are coming from I just don't think they properly articulate their feelings or thoughts. "Ungrateful" is the wrong term in how the guys present themselves.

I mean that's just a reality of commenting live without a filter.

I think that stuff becomes more grating when you don't watch it as its happening. It seemed fine to me last night.

It's like going on Twitter after the Superbowl and thinking "what the fuck?".

Some of you are pretty rough on Alex. He obviously has anxiety, adhd, or some other mental issue. Probably why he smokes pot to relax himself. Never much understood the Alex hate, he is one of the few that will get deep into conversation about games and what systems in them he likes/dislikes. Out of all GB (and I love them all) Brad gets on my nerves the most because he just makes it seem like his life is a chore and so hard, he has to be the most tired person I've ever seen. Imagine he had a physical labor job? Yeesh.

I like that you went from saying that people should complain about one GB member to just complaining about another GB member :p

I said people were overly rough, I didn't say people shouldn't complain, people can have an opinion...doesn't mean I have to agree. Also, potential mental illness ≠ overt laziness.

Jeff's terrible thoughts on VATS had me wondering why I tuned in to their thing. Vinny always reminds me, though. The quips they kept throwing out...kinda cringeworthy, but you gotta say some bullshit on a stream. Better than the drivel Sessler and Webb had to drum up while waiting for everything to start, I suppose.

Can I just ask a question: Who cares what a bunch of YouTube commenters think?

I dunno. I actually see where Jeff is coming from. It is true that at the end there, VATS just became the headshot, headshot, headshot, headshot system.

There really was very little reason to go for anything but a headshot once you got the percentage up high enough.

VATS is a pretty terrible and dull mechanic. Most of the time all you do it activate it and queue up headshots.

Fallout 4 I had no interest in but the settlement building and ADS with everything else got me pretty excited for it, I can't lie.

Agreed. Fallout 3/NV with a punch of tacticlol crap and ADS kicked total ass on the other hand.

Was there any indication that you could miss in VATS? I got the impression it just changed damage, not hit chance.

There was also a mysterious lack of level information on the enemies.
It's impossible to truly hate the Wolf. His cynicism alone is worth its weight in gold.
On the topic of remasters, and because right now in this industry I think it's important to never stop giving due praise for pro-consumer practices where applicable, I want to give huge fucking props to Larian Studios for coding up a remastered / rebalanced / rewritten version of Divinity:OS and choosing to give it to existing owners of the vanilla game for free.

CD Projekt has been doing free "remasters" since the Witcher 1; InXile is in the process of doing it for Wasteland 2; Harebrained Schemes did it for Shadowrun: Dragonfall's standalone edition. Then we look at every other company, making some graphical enhancements and packing the DLC in and selling it as an entirely new game.

"Boo" is the only response we should have to this very cynical "Definitive Edition" remastering trend.

What did he say about VATS?

The Chat on GB itself is one of the most decent live-chat experiences you can have around gaming, even with many new accounts during E3, not even kidding.

Youtube is probably worse than Twitch, since you can atleast moderate Twitch somewhat effectively. People need to get noticed and it turns into a spiral of vitriol that also alienates a lot of people. Sadly that part is not noticable.

It needs tuning, but it made it not just another shooter. Take away the dice roll aspect and what the hell is the game? I don't want Jeff's Fallout.

The combat in Fallout 3 was pretty poor, as in even being a generic shooter would be an upgrade there. VATS could be more interesting, but I agree with Jeff that it needs to be more than a way to camouflage poorly designed shooting.

As someone who's grown sour on video games and them being very much the same and using the same tiresome sales tactics - i very much enjoy the Giant Bomb panel during these streams.

It was the modded version of fallout new vegas that I played where the gameplay isn't actually terrible.

How about not buying their games? Booing developers presenting their hard work on stage is callous and really rude.

I'd like to see your reaction is someone boos you while you're doing a presentation of your work in front of thousands of people.

Yeah, I've never liked VATS and the actual shooting in the Fallout games was absolute dogshit. I hope they improve VATS immensely.

Jeff wasn't sitting in the audience doing that.

Yeah sometimes these streams are like a bootleg MST3K.

Maybe RPGs aren't your thing?

RPGS and CRPGs in particular is my favourite genre. I just thought VATS was a pretty bad system that made all the combat a fucking cakewalk early on. Doesn't mean I want Fallout to turn into Gears of War, just means that I want a better system for that stuff.

They both could use a revamp, no doubt. I just get the sense he'd rather have no VATS. Like, making it a competent shooter without that extra gimmick to get you out of a jam seem far less interesting to me. VATS could be fun, but it needs more of an incentive to go for anything but a headshot.

Not blaming Jeff, but the post made it sound like the booing at the presser was justified.
