It's mainly Jeff to be honest. I used to love dude. He's just so negative now, it's irritating to hear people talk shit about games you like (when they're actually good games). Or to just hear someone who doesn't have the same passion they used to have. I hope one day he'll snap outta the funk he's in when it comes to games.

Yeah except for him being high up on a lot of games lately even if they aren't normally his thing.

I feel like you're a year too late on this "Jeff is too negative" meme.

Do you guys recommend watching the giant bomb version of the press conferences live?

I love GB. I just dunno if I want chatter over the conference. Though it could improve the boring parts?

Maybe I should watch one of last years.

Hopefully Austin's first meeting with Dan will be filmed.

I'd hope it'd go something like this

It will definitely improve the boring parts.

Watch one of last years.

Depends on what you want out of the conferences. If you care enough about them to actually want to watch them "clean", do that. If you think the conferences often get really boring etc., watch with commentary. But yes, it does improve the boring parts by a lot.

I'd hope it'd go something like this

Haha, where's that clip from?

I watched some of last year's a couple days ago and I really enjoyed it, more than watching it live actually.

Could always put up two streams if you're worried. One GB and one vanilla, and when the conference starts to get boring or something you don't care about get's announced, unmute the GB one.

www.giantbomb.com/chat has both the vanilla stream and the "Talking Over..." stream for that exact purpose.

no, but they are entertaining. I usually watch them a day or two after. I like watching the main three live, with GAF as 'stream of conciousness' on the side. That always helps fill the quiet moments :)

Am I right in thinking they usually have two streams up on the /chat page, one for their Talking Over show and one that's just a rehost for the normal conference broadcast?

If so, you always have the option to just quickly mute/scroll down for non-commentary if you find the chatter is too much, and back to the commentary if the vanilla show is ever too dry.

EDIT: too slow, got Mygged, darn it

Heh, yeah it's a pretty smart way of doing this.

So, what.. Do I watch the Sony conference with GB keeping me company, or do I watch it all by myself?? I have no idea what to do :(

Let me put it this way. The Giant Bomb guys want to hear what the people in the press conference are saying as much as the rest of us, so it's not like they're going to be constantly talking over people.

Just give it a try and watch the commentary and see if you like it.

So is the protocol to watch the conferences pure first? Or just go with the GB one?

Everyone's different, but I prefer just watching GB's stream. If their talking made me miss any trailer/demo that looked particularly interesting, I'll just go back and watch that part. E3 week produces so much content that it's already nuts trying to keep up - adding re-watches to it is just crazy talk.

Unless you're relaxing at a lake house while fishing, I suppose. But no one's that jammy...

Did the conference have a scheduled run time announced? I'm assuming it's shorter than MS or Sony's would be, I mean, they don't have THAT many possible titles to talk about, right?

Even though it is flawed in many ways, Shenmue broke so many milestones and had such amazing scope/detail, that I find it hard to argue that it is a 'bad' game. I am lucky to have experienced both Shenmue games at launch. And it's an experience that has stuck with me, especially Shenmue 1.

Any idea what kind of delay these guys are on when streaming? Want to check out their live Bethesda stream tonight, but if it's not in sync with GAF reactions, I'll check out the archive tomorrow.
