Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

legit surprised they just showed off a new console but not a single new Xbox exclusive. Their studio situation is fucking dire

I'm sold on a good chunk of the games they showed off, especially first party

I'm not sold on getting an Xbox, still feel like I can just save up for a PC and grab Crackdown when it's 20 bucks

Lots of games, no time for them all. Will probably not play Anthem since Destiny exists and I'm already invested in that.

For the rest, Last Night, Tacoma and Ooblets I will probably get when I get a new MacBook (or when they come to PS4, whatever happens first).

4K TVs aren't that expensive unless you have to have an OLED. My 49 inch X900E was $1100, but my old HDTV was from 2009 so I got 8 good years out of it.

conference was kinda boring. had some interesting games that ive already forgotten about

watched it on the mixer stream on the xbox though and this was a really good streaming experience. i'll keep using this

Well that was very disappointing. The indie games looked 10x more interesting than the AAAs but even then, many of them were not totally impressive. Best games for me were Ori and The Last Night. All that aside, Anthem looks stunning graphically though the gameplay? I'm not decided on that. Very much going after the Destiny crowd, which is just not for me. In fact, the opening section inside the walls looked an order of magnitude more interesting to me. It looked like a futuristic Attack On Titan without the awful cliche main characters and I was hoping for a RPG set in such a scenario.

And $499. Yep my head was right. This is definitely not a mass market device, but I'm not sure it's worth $100 more than a PS4 Pro.

$499 is going to be a tough sell with what they showed. It's like 2013 all over again, except now Sony is firmly entrenched as the market leader. Hard for me to believe the X isn't going to struggle out the gate.

I haven't even bought/Played the games I want to this year. I don't need another console.

From the AAA games shown I don't think I have interest in any of them. Maybe Anthem but we will see.

But I think their ecosystem is really nice. The focus on unifying their platforms and backwards compatibility is pretty cool and they seem to update their OS frequently. It's a cool console.

So Anthem isn't any type of exclusive right?
sad they had to end on that instead of something new and exclusive like Sunset Overdrive or Quantum Break for example.
would have loved to see a new Alan Wake or something

I'm really hoping that Bethesda has managed to keep an Elder Scrolls under wraps and is unveiling it today. It's been too long since Skyrim.

New Metro: Hell yes
AC Origins: Looks good, might be in
Ori: Not sure if I like the look of it but sure
Anthem: Maybe?

That's kinda it for me.

Edit:
Oh, The Last Night looks insane

C+ conference. Poor showing for Xbox One X and Microsoft as a game publisher. It's sad because I really want them to succeed. But it had a couple solid game announcements from indies and third parties.

Hmm, they said that they'd shown titles for every player. But unless I missed it the only RPG style game was an MMO. Even Bioware's new IP looks like another Destiny.

As someone that doesn't play shooters I feel like I'm being dropped from the AAA space. The other shows are still to come, but outside of Cyberpunk I'm struggling to thing of any non-multiplayer western style RPG in development.

Including a 4K drive means that I'll go the MS route rather than PS once I'm ready to move to 4K.
