SWERY says that Rainy Woods is a completely separate game that was cancelled by the publisher, for what that's worth.

I'm sure I'm LTTP, but A GAFfer posted a podcast a couple of days ago, featuring an interview with SWERY that's pretty cool:

Yes, a completely separate game with many of the same characters, voice actors, lines and (apparently) scenes.

Just listened the whole DP thing and it was pretty awesome.

And Charlie looks like he might grow up with the same build as Thomas.

Becky's voice actress is also Sybil in Sam & Max.
 
So I just finished the VJ run and I think SWERY is now my hero. Imagine what he could do with a decent budget. Someone give it to him!

i wonder what would happen to you if you tried to watch the whole thing (for one of the pairs) in one sitting

i might buy a lot of coffee and try it later this week, i don't value my sanity that highly anyway.

It's 21 odd hours so it's at least a lot more manageable than thinking of doing that for P4 :p
 
So I'm almost done with VJ today. It amazes me how they continue to pick up melee weapons, but NEVER USE THEM. I mean, why even pick them up if you're not gunna do anything with them? Just skip over them. Yet they continue to hoard.

And then during one of the episodes they had the nerve to complain about how the quick select ain't so quick anymore. Well gee, I wonder why? You're carrying around 2 pistols, 4 melee weapons, a shotgun, and a submachine gun. Ya think you might wanna...I dunno, trim the fat a bit, so to speak?
 
While this thread is bumped I gotta say, I tried a sinner's sandwich today and it was delicious.
Harry is onto something with his lunch, it truly does have more than a tasty crunch.

Who knows about Polly? I think she's just so old and senile she doesn't know whats going on half the time. Kaysen never hurt her because she reminded him of his mother.

I think swery never intended to reveal everything because he wanted people to try and figure it out for them self. In a way, I kind of like it like that.

I guess.....but when you spend so much of your time in a weird demon world and they don't explain shit about it, IMO, that's a huge oversight. Also not explaining how Kaysen got the way he did seems kinda awful. Oh well maybe I just missed a bunch of story stuff.

Still don't know if I'll watch the BR version, VJ was pretty damn good.

I finished the ER a bit late as I was away for around a week and couldn’t watch the BR finales in time but now that it’s all done, I just wanted to thank the GB crew for a really entertaining pair of ERs.

I know it’s tough for them to keep doing them, and it requires a very specific type of game and a lull in game releases to make work… But I really hope they keep making the effort in producing these once a year.

I don’t think anything really brings a virtual community together quite like serialized content. It’s great.
 
This is the first time I have listened to anything Giant Bomb - holy crap it's hilarious. Just watching the first vid now. lol @ still having the cig in his mouth after the car crash.

You mean you have never ever been to giant bomb before? If so, there's a lot of content out there that is a lot more fun than this great endurance run :)
 
Man I miss this thread. What a great time I had with this endurance run.
I know the Giant Bomb guys scoffed at the PAX panel when asked about the next ER, but seriously they need to do more of these.
For the record I purchased and played Deadly Premonition because of the Endurance Run.
