I wonder why you would need to calibrate the headset itself... its geometry should be the same for all models, and wouldn't depend on your environment.

Yeah using visible light for tracking is not good.

I think they did. There was a super informative post from ckohler today in the PSVR launch thread about how manually running through this advanced calibrating helped him a ton.
