98% of the subscriber content and users were on GB.
That's really surprising. I'm not saying the GB guys would be miffed about it, but for me, I think I'd feel a little put out to be providing the content that's making the revenue that four other sites are living off.

Sorry for a random post but:

So last night I watched all the "Best of quick looks" on youtube and wow that was a blast.

I ended up watching the entire quick look of Wipeout for the Wii and I haven't laughed that hard in years. I'm being dead serious on that too.

All three Wipeout Quick Looks are great. Kinect adds even more stupidity.

OT but it is a bummer looking at tested right now. 13 comments on the iPhone discussion and barely any forum activity. What the hell happened to that place?
It's a shame, since those guys are pumping out some really cool content and didn't suffer from the content drought that GB did, but it's such a pain in the ass to use their site that I don't think I bothered to go and see half of it.

I think you just made my day! I'm going to go watch these right now.

They've been cranking out some really cool stuff since the BB acquisition for sure. The Adam Savage podcast is especially great, but it also showcases what the rest of the site (imo) is lacking, funny and likeable personalities. I'm persuaded what made GB's success is the bombsquad first, the features second. And tested only has half of the recipe.

What's the problem? You don't want an iphone news on GB?

Considering that the usebase is bigger than the 3DS+Vita combined...I think it's justified.

There's bigger and better places for Apple coverage.

New Windows phone looks kind of cool, but that didn't get a story.

"__________, you guys."

Sure (and that's a good thing) but it's still worth a news IMO...

Not in my opinion, where were the Lumia phones? Or the Razr? Or the Amazon thingies? It's not the right place. I am not mad or anything, but if you cover those things, be consistent or you may look like you favor some things over others.

We don't "cover" iOS games, but I'd like do, in rare cases where it makes sense, and we talk about iOS games on the Bombcast all the time. Fair game.

Well yeah I meant like in comparison to the other systems. I would not mind a more sophisticated mobile gaming coverage, but I may be in the minority with that.

We're even if you report on Kuma 360's Cat Fishing.

Burn: Cycle was great, hilarious stuff. I don't think Ryan's sense of humour really jives with Vinny/Dave's and his tendency to constantly cut others off or talk over them to get a referential joke in was kind of annoying after a while, but it was great to see Random PC Game back all the same.

Yup, same reason I was bummed to see him on the Radio Dave show after the buyout - he's incapable of taking a back seat after years of hosting.

Even on Drew's NK thing he tried to take over far too much. Just needs to relax a little bit.

Wow, I've been watching Random PC Game: Phantasmagoria and just got to THAT part in the second half. I laughed for 5 minutes straight.

They quickly hacked the site up after the sale to benefit from the Mythbusters tour, but I wonder how beneficial that was with the site being so awful. I'm a fan of Will and Norm, and their podcast is a weekly must listen for me, so I hope this doesn't kill the site.

I don't even want to see what Screened is like now.

Tested is doing OK. Their videos get a fair amount of views on YouTube. They're working on a new site and just getting settled in to a new office.

They are probably in a better place than GB at this point.

Fishing for reasons to complain about Patrick has gotten pretty pathetic lately.

If you would watch this thread closely you would know that I am one of those few GB-GAF members who is championing for Patrick and get shit for that. Express critique once, get shit for that too. Go figure.

Phantasmagoria remains as my favourite piece of content they've put out to date, so awesome that they played through the whole thing.
RIP glory days.
