Giant Bomb Thread #4: A thread of perceived slights

I like the concept behind the show.

Just would prefer it without the Gamespot guys. Chris Watters seems like a good guy though.

Felt a bit like Happy Hour. Super structured shows isn't their strong suit, but still fun.

Definitely reminiscent of Happy Hour. I wasn't very interested in the already largely exposed games like SimCity or Tomb Raider, but the Naruto segments were hilarious. Maybe a focus on smaller, quirkier stuff would be neat instead of games we all already know about.

It was not bad, but I hope that doesn't mean we are getting less Quick Looks now. I still want to see a Quick Look for the Mass Effect DLC and one for MLB the Show with Vinny and Jeff.

Liked the show, down for some fresh collabos to be honest. Lets them show off a bunch of stuff, even for just a few minutes. All over the map shows like this or Happy Hour are a little uneven by nature, but hey whatever. New videogames.

The Mitch Hedberg looking guy saved the day with "Gigglebits" and then Brad brought it home by breaking any sense of immersion in that baseball game. I don't need this show every week, but once a month would be nice.

It's a shame that people got the chat all the way up to 200-300 secs of cool down.

It was ten minutes when Carolyn showed up the second time.

I was watching it on my phone at work but had to stop around MLB: The Show, any reason to pick it up after that?

Overall, I can see what they're trying to do with it. I was kinda iffy at the start, seeing Patrick fumble his way through a baseball game (which I hope is not a replacement for a Vinny/Jeff Quick Look because that'd be disappointing), but it seemed to pick up after that.

This first new releases Wednesday show was awesome, I love how much they cover in a scatterbrained and speedy way. A lot of different games were shown, and with how little was shown for each game you still get plenty of info on the game.

Carolyn and Max were the most comfortable during the live show, the rest of the Gamespot crew felt really timid and rigid. Still enjoyed their presence though.

I thought Carolyn had some nerves causing her to talk too rapidly, similar to how Klepek used to be, I could take or leave her. Watters and Max were better.

Definetly some nerves with some of the GS people. The british dude (head GS guy?) really didn't seem to know what to do with himself. Everyone else was at least alright and it should get better in coming weeks.

She gets nervous on the podcast but it goes away after awhile. She is one of the funnier persons on the podcasts.

I think the GS people feel out of place because they know it's primarily a GB stream, and they also probably know how much more well liked the GB crew is by their fans.

It just seems like GB has a very strong, and vocal fan group - one that the GS guys didn't want on their ass.

What is the proper protocol for watching archived Twitch videos (.flv) on an iPod? The Twitch app is only for livestreams. Adobe update site says the device doesn't support flash.

I ended up downloading a downloader and putting in the URL DownloadHelper sniffed up. Doesn't seem ideal. Hopefully the thing will actually play. No it does not.

Why are things stupid, GAF?

Twitch is shit on iOS.

There's no way I'd give Gamespot fifty dollars a year, that's for sure.

I still have my $15 store code. They won't restock that damn Luchadeer shirt in grey

Doesn't GB have an HTML 5 player? Will that work on the iPod? Or is the content you're trying to watch not archived on the site yet?

I have the Giant Bomb Video Buddy for watching stuff on GB (it's pretty great), but yeah, it's not on there until tomorrow probably and I want to watch NAOW. :(

I thought it was a pretty good show after the weird start with Patrick talking to himself. Its pretty much unprofessional fridays with more people and more games.

Was there more viewers for this than there usually is for Giant Bomb streams? It was on the Gamespot home page so I'm curious how much crossover there is between the audiences.

Started watching it now. Weird that Patrick would be playing alone--nothing against him, it's just always better with 2+ people.

people here are liking the Gamespot editors? is this real life?

You guys should listen to Gamespot Gameplay. Really great podcast. Van Ord hosts it now. The GS editors are pretty funny on it too. Not the same style as the Bombcast but they have their own sense of humor and they have various developers on all the time.
