I think my premium month ends today.

Shame because I was really busy this month and didnt get to run though everything like I normally do. + signing up in funerary got me a shorter membership then normal.

Whatever. Time to watch the Drew NK video for the 3rd time! Always a good way to end a membership.

Actually wait..... I can just DL it and have it forever cant I?

I'm finally a premium member, what's the first piece of content I should check out?
Phantasmagoria PC Game two parter.

After that, check out all of the non-TNT stuff, basically.

edit: And north korea, duh. How could I forget?

Random PC Game: Phantasmagoria Part 01
Random PC Game: Phantasmagoria Part 02
Drew Returns from North Korea
Random PC Game: Outcast
Random PC Game: SWAT
All of the Flight Club Videos
All of the Load Our Last Saves (particularly freedom fighters)
All Random PC Games
Jar Time Videos have been really good

Jar Times have always my favorite piece of premium content. You can basically think of it as a one man podcast.

You kind of get to see a different side of Jeff than you would in a Bombcast or something similar.

Wasn't there some guy really upset that Drew went to North Korea and that they were "too nice" on the video or something? I remember someone having a minor freakout from that vid.

HAHA, Harebrained Schemes just released an update saying they'll be on "GameStop"

Just funny considering yesterday's conversation on the livestream

Do what I did. Watch the free Persona 4 Endurance Run. I become premium and have only watched Drew goes to North Korea, and Unprofessional Fridays. I want to get through the Endurance Run before I get to the other content.

I regret nothing.

Giant Bomb really needs to do something about their video situation: I have a very fast connection, but since they switched from Amazon (where I often was able to almost max out my 100Mbit connection) to Akamai for video hosting, download speeds are terrible and very often not even sufficient for HD or High quality streaming. GameSpot is equally terrible, judging by their URLs they use the same video hosting service.

As a site primarily renowned for its video content, as well as a site that is trying to monetize using Premium memberships for access to more video content, they really need to better address this situation.

I've seen plenty of complaints about their new video player stopping in this thread: That's very likely the same issue I'm experiencing, insufficient bandwidth being provided by their video servers.

Im ok with GOW:A TNT but you know it will just be Patrick and Ryan doing the show and then people will somehow blame the game for the show being boring.

I've already had enough SC2 HOTS coverage this week. It's been like 3 hours of the stuff, and I was still sick of the ridiculous amounts of coverage SC2 WOL got.

GoW multiplayer looks real interesting and fun though. Hopefully the show turns out ok... but I don't have a ton of faith...

Are they even going to be playing with giantbombers? Didn't they stop doing ps3 TNTs because no one ever showed up...

They never had problems getting people for big exclusive releases like Uncharted or Killzone, and GoW doesn't require sixteen people. I think they'll be fine.

Huh, I thought the GOW mp was pretty well received? I at least know that there are some people around here on gaf that absolutely love it.

I switched the video setting to Progressive and after viewing three different quick looks I have had no problems so far.

In that case, you're problem probably wasn't related to GiantBomb not delivering enough bandwidth. Like a few people had problems with Amazon (which was very fast for me), others have problems with whatever Akamai service tier they are now on.

Their new video player is definitively better, and with Chrome having recently fixed their HTML5/MP4 video support, most problems related to that have also disappeared. It's just that bandwidth delivery tends to be spotty at times.

I'd much rather have GoW TNT than Starcraft. There is already plenty of Starcraft premium videos on the site. I don't need to see the same rts strategy again.

They could do Starcraft again, I just don't think they'll be able to top what they did on Tuesday. That was one of the best quicklooks they've done period, forget Starcraft.

The only problem I have with the wednesday show is when they play games on that before the quicklooks come out, my urgency in watching the quicklooks drops significantly. After they played GOW last night on the Wednesday show, I really had no inkling to watch a second video about it.

Granted, I still watched the GOW quicklook, but by having it on in the background at work.

That's it though, I though the Wednesday show was good.

I would take SC2 over pretty much any shooter or deathmatch type game. At least SC2 involves some strategy beyond spawn/shoot/die.

Stuff like this must infuriate the engineers. Using Akamai I now get full 100Mb speeds whereas Amazon's S3 video was fucked for me.

Is it just me or has Patrick become a lot better recently? Or maybe he's exactly the same and I'm just less of a dick these days.
