BOOM!!! DROP A BOMB ON IT!

So, I watched the J+V Deadly Premonition run, and I found it to be absolutely hilarious, especially the first half. Then, I started watching the Persona run up to episode ~10, and I didn't find it to be as funny so I eventually stopped. I still laughed out loud once or twice per episode ('you are tired from the long trip. It's best to go to bed early today'), but the parts where it wasn't funny, I found it to be a little boring (as opposed to DP, where I found even most of the parts where Vinny and Jeff weren't cracking jokes interesting to watch).

Should I try watching it again?

Have you played the game? That makes it much more interesting because while it's funny, you're also comparing your reactions and decisions to theirs. It's fun.

Unprofessional Fridays are worth it.
Unprofessional Fridays are great, but I'm kinda hoping they don't strictly do it every week. That seems to be when the live shows get a bit stale.

You have to remember P4ER was one of the first pieces of content on the site, Jeff and Vinny were just finding their groove. I'd definitely give it more than 10 episodes, especially as all the early ones were so short. Also it's great watching them slowly start to really like a game.

Persona 4 endurance run starts off slow, but soon reaches the highest highs I think of any Giantbomb content.

While I agree that Unprofessional Fridays has the possibility to get stale, as long as they keep the planning for it down to simply having them bring an item to show and tell, I think it can run quite a while.

It's not like TNT, where it has to fit a specific niche, and it's not like Happy Hour, where they had scripted segments.

I just ask that they keep the games shown to those that they are passionate about for whatever reason, and not whatever is the flavor of the month.

Yeah, it's amazing watching as Jeff goes from skeptical to being really passionate about it. I think his Top 10 this year nailed it when he said that watching (and playing) Persona 4 was one of the most enjoyable experiences he's ever had with video games in general.

You also watch both Jeff and Vinny's improv skills really take off. By the end of the game, they really work super well with each other, riffing off each other's material and avoiding talking over each other for the most part.

Stick with the ER, or at least watch the best of videos. You can't be a real Giant Bomb fan if you don't get the Bufu reference.

Unprofessional Fridays are worth it.

Definitely. I had it on in the background on Saturday while I fast-forwarded my way thru my second playthru of P4G.

I forget, did Jeff ever finish Persona 4 personally?

I know he was playing it concurrently for a while, but I don't remember if he ever personally completed it.

TNT is not as good as Unprofessional Fridays cuz it's more structured and they tend to force themselves to play through one or two games. But Fridays is choosing games they want to share and trying to ignore being mocked by their colleagues at the same time for liking a specific game. Much more fun and looser than other live shows.

I approve of this thread title and I am down with this thread.

I watch the Darts episode of the the VJ-Deadly Premonition ER when I'm studying because York flipping out about shooting darts and Jeff berating him for it is funny.

I think it's the best piece of content on the site. I've never Played persona 4 but I've seen the endurance run like 3 times already so take that as you will.

Cut them some slack. Not even Dave Chapelle in his prime had 90 straight hours of funny in him.

Yeah, looking purely at post history, the first thread lasted just shy of two years, the second thread lasted about seven months, and the third thread lasted only four months. We're becoming the next anime-gaf. Oh, dear.

Judging from OP banner, you are already otakus.

I can't remember the last time they had I Love Mondays in the "coming soon" box, so maybe they're doing something with that this week.

Maybe they finally got a green screen and are gonna produce I Love Mondays as opposed to trying to recreate the blair witch project?

Weirdly enough, that first thread ended around the same time they got bought. I wonder if that ended up introducing lots of new people to the site and these threads.
