Swery interview was awesome last time. Hopefully he talks a little about future plans with them. Also, I really hope Dave keeps his promise about finishing Blade Runner on Random PC Game

Fucking Gold.

Just now got around to reading Alex's write up on a brief history of THQ, the results of the bidding, and some final thoughts. It is probably my favorite thing he's written, and it really reminded me how much is now gone. I remember laughing at a lot of THQ games I rented on the N64, back in the day. I knew they weren't the same quality as other things on the platform, but they were fun ways to spend time with my brother or friends now and again.

edit:

He'd better. I didn't go to all that work for nothing!
Still need to make the tl;dr version.

No Mercy is the greatest licensed wrestling game ever made. THQ switching to Yukes for their WWE games was the true start of their downfall.

Patrick is working his way up to Vinny tier on tastes.

What happened to him playing LTTP?

I thought he used that as an example? As in, once he builds his new PC, if he's going to play something like LTTP, he might as well stream it. I could be misremembering though.

Wow, long one!

Majora's Mask incoming! Mwahahahahha!
You can follow companies on skype? What?

DAVE QUICKLOOK OF FIRE EMBLEM? Wow, I wouldn't have expected that one, haha.

Dave bought a Vita to play Tactics Ogre and other SRPGs. It's not that surprising, really. Other than Dave being on camera

Patrick and Ryan interviewing Swery this week.

Way to make me not interesting is a Swery interview GB.

What if Patrick calls Swery an asshole like he did Nolan North?

Patrick, if you are reading this - What is going on with your PC build and when can we expect to see more Spookin?

As much as I love mondays, I miss the theme tune you guys :(
It always jumpstarted my Mondays because the harmonies were incredibly delightful to listen to. I'm so sad it hasn't been used in a long time.

Mondays aren't fun anymore.

Dark Schala is one of the good posters. What are they doing slumming in here so much?
I like watching their live/premium stuff and discussing it, and I think you're all fun people!

I'm surprised Patrick seems to be digging the new Fire Emblem. It didn't really strike me as the type of game the GB guys would enjoy.

Patrick is getting into visual novels, Dave is playing Fire Emblem, Brad is playing Devil May Cry, Vinny is playing Castlevania... I don't even know what the heck is going on anymore.

Patrick has grown as a human being. Open to new types of games and learning to enjoy them. I respect that a lot.

Sounds like Dave was always heavily into Fire Emblem.

I liked how Ryan said "I loved Advance Wars" during their Skulls chatter yet showed barely any interest in Fire Emblem Awakening

Don't worry, Ryan is still playing nothing.
He was the person who played Anarchy Reigns, so he deserves our respect.

And with the Expansion Pak, they should play Perfect Dark on UPF. 4 player madness!
Man, I would love it if they played 4player perfect dark. Though, I think it would be better for them to do it on the 360, since I could see them calling it quits due to the awful lag present in most of the multiplayer on the n64.

Hey now, give credit where it's due: Jeff was the VN trailblazer.

Don't get me wrong, it's awesome to hear about niche games like Fire Emblem. It just seems like it's the Anti-GB game: Complex and difficult, anime, lengthy and not very cinematic.

That actually makes sense to me. In the long run AW probably has more depth as a strategy game, but it's also a lot more accessible than FE. You can definitely see that the same dudes make them, though.

They're all playing actual games, great! I've gotten a bit tired of the "I didn't play anything over the weekend except for this iOS puzzle game"-responses on bombcasts lately.

Yeah, I remember those "neuron" grenades or something would wreck your vision and cause so much lag, fun times. I'd like to see everyone's reactions to that, the booby trapped rifles, and the bullshit see thru walls railgun.

i don't think FE is all that complex, certainly not by SRPG standarts (and they managed XCOM just fine). Also, not all games of the series are difficult, especially not if you are willing to use the strong starting unit.

I wonder how much P3 Jeff played. I know he finished Persona back in the day, and Vinny was playing through P3P at the time of the quicklook, but...
