I don't watch TNT being in the UK, and this makes me glad I didn't. It does indeed sound like a dickish thing to do.
As for the GB community. From my personal experience it is fueled by teenage/manchild sycophants. Now I know that is a sweeping statement but the chat and comments section generally are horrendous.

It's best to just stay away from any coverage about a game you care about and just hope you don't get spoiled from a non sequitur or troll.
Or Ubisoft because they've been saying what he said about AC3 from the beginning. Or don't get bent out of shape about knowing the slightest thing about a game you want to play.

What's everyone freaking out about? Ubisoft has said that III would be the end of Desmond's story for ages. I think the only thing potentially spoiler-ific in the video is Patrick and Jeff's silence, but even that could be because they don't want to dig up actual spoilers.
If you're mad about being spoiled, wait til you see how they made it.

Like I said in my original post, the problem wasn't necessarily what Ryan said. It was that the chat took it and ran with it and actually spoiled the game with specifics. Can't fault the crew for chat being chat, but it was unfortunate either way. The guys digging through the video and just assuming that

While I'm not disappointed as I mainly played AC for the gameplay (I didn't even play Brotherhood and Revelations and didn't pick AC3 up yet only because of Hurricane Sandy) I can see why the people that do care more about AC would be pissed tonight. Especially since it was a dual TNT with NFS and the multiplayer of AC3 yet AC3 story stuff was talked about even during the NFS portions.

It's the game's first week of release so you could at least understand why the people who care about AC story stuff are just freaking out and pointing fingers and are super apprehensive and on edge about spoilers while some people revel at the thought of spoiling or watching others get spoiled for such a story driven game that they don't care about or think is garbage.

The biggest mind fuck I got reading about this is that sane people pay attention to the chat. The first thing I do when I load up a GB live stream is click the button to completely turn off the chat box.
My understanding is that the bad spoilers happened in the chat, and the only think Ryan spoiled was something that had come up in PR for the game.

But maybe I'm mistaken. I think Assassin's Creed is a garbage franchise, so I haven't paid a ton of attention.

I usually watch 'em on Boxee Box and there's no way to have chat on there!
But yeah the chat is just flooded with similar comments, etc. I guess if I cared about Ass Creed I would maybe be upset...but it's hard for me to care one way or the other. I've only played 1 and 2 and the Desmond sections are garbage.

Same never use chat, hell, I've been going to their twitch page instead of giantbomb. For some reason audio is always louder on their twitch page than at giantbomb, works better for me and I don't have to deal with chat
Jeff and Ryan are probably in a lot of meetings. Brad is reviewing a lot of games and Vinny's holding down the whole video end of things. It's probably easier to take a break from writing/reporting a story than any of that other stuff.

Have they said anything about Blade Runner today?
I might be missing the point here, but the scores for RE 6 go from 20% to 95%. So all reviewers don't hate RE 6, it's more like a third hated it, a third thought it was OK, and a third liked it. Hence the 67% average.
On the other hand there are only two reviewers who scored Dishonored lower than Patrick did.

He hates venerably well received games ie, Jet set radio, Nights, New Mario 2 DS, and a number of other good titles in the last few bombcasts. And is generally wrong when talking about games and gaming history.
