Does anyone know the name of the song that plays as Drew won the gold medal in archery during the BLLSL?

I coulda sworn it was the Chariots of Fire theme, but I don't entirely remember. Maybe it was one of those "this is a clear homage to a certain song but for copyright purposes we tweaked it a little" songs that the video crew had in their library.

Jeff's disappointed tone in that Borderlands review is pretty hype deflating, especially for someone who found the first game only fun for the first 10 or so hours before it became boring and repetitive.

Borderlands 2
4 out of 5

Sounds good for fans of the original. Borderlands is a game that I wanted to like because it seemed fun for co-op (which I usually really enjoy), but I couldn't really get into it. The world, art style, and gunplay didn't do anything for me.

Edit: watching the Quick Look reminds me how annoying the snowflakes/rain/blood/whatever on the camera thing is. Wish games would drop that convention.

They need an alternate #TeamBrad shirt which has Brad Muir replacing Shoemaker like he subbed for Dave Lang during their PAX panel.

I regret not being able to catch any of the BLLSL as it was happening, but I did manage to see the video of Brad getting that achievement. Awesome moment (and fuck that achievement).

I had a dream about this thread last night. I dreamed that it was moved to off-topic community and everyone was freaked out about it. What kind of life am I living where my brain thinks that that is an all right plot for a dream?

The Big Live Live Show Live 3 is now up in all its glory...

...well almost. Also there seems to be some audio sync issues that wern't there in the TwitchTV version :(

They had a short co-op session in the BLLSL this year.

I'm sure a proper quicklook will follow though!

With the way Jeff has been quickly dismissing proper quick looks of games that have received prior coverage lately I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see one (at least Mark of the Ninja and Borderlands 2 got the quick look treatment). Gotta make sure the website coasts on as little content as possible.

I think they might do a co-op Torchlight 2 TNT instead.

My problem with BL2 is just how completely unsatisfying the combat looks. Jeff has beaten the game so presumably he has some good high level guns, but they just look so....bland

Lasted longer than me. I found it boring and repetitive after 10 minutes because the loot wasn't good and the gunplay just wasn't fun. It's why I'm not hyped for Boredlands 2 and am scratching my head at all the people pre-ordering/hype-training it up. :/

Of course, I forced myself to finish it and platinum it before the DLC hit because it was a rather easy Platinum.

I will never understand people forcing themselves through games they do not enjoy, plus even getting every achievement etc. Man...

BL2 is my first Borderlands experience, and after about 3 hours I think it's amazing. I'm playing as Zero. Even though I don't have melee weapons yet I feel like a badass. Going invisible only to pop up at point blank range and fire a shotgun into an enemy's dome is not getting old.

Based on the BL2 quick look and review it sounds like maybe there's some Borderlands fatigue going on there.
It's funny that immediate first impressions from game unveilings so often turn out accurate.

I love Borderlands, but from the get-go people observed that there doesn't seem to be much new about it, a very iterative sequel - so far what I've played feels like Borderlands 1.5.

Would have loved to see Borderlands 2 fully become the 'FPS Diablo 2' by offering full body loot, randomised 'dungeons', ladders etc.

Oh well, there's always Borderlands 3.

One could almost say it's just... MORE-derlands.

...

-_-

Ya but it keeps with the alliteration of Piper's Pit though.

Snider sounds like Piper but doesn't have the alliteration.

Important things like this must be sorted out.

I completely missed the BLLSL the other day, and I have a question-

What is the best order to view these in? Premium stuff first and then the BLLSL or the other way around?

I have done this a few times now, and I always have mixed results. I'll either end up hating the game more and more, or I will begin to find some glint of something to like about it. Perhaps it's stockholm syndrome, but it has made me like some games a little more when I finished playing through them.

I've been catching up on the show itself first and planning on doing Premium stuff second. I don't think there's any 'right' way to do it as they were running simultaneously, so just go for one!
