Huh.

Found an interview with Patrick and one of the developers of Gone Home that hasn't been transcribed yet.

Is it weird to post a dropbox link to something he hasn't put out yet?

What does "ironically good" EVEN MEAN? I blame Patrick for this nonsense.

"Ironically good" is how gamers describe the cognitive dissonance of enjoying an objectively good game that doesn't follow the conventional game design that they think is unquestionably the only way to do things.

WTF GB.

What do you mean you found it? Like googling around and found out where he keeps the stuff, or some seedy underground operation kind of thing?

It's somewhere entirely public. I'd prefer not to say, but I found it completely out of random, so I have no idea how old it is.

Yeah probably better you don't share, and it also might be a good idea to let Patrick know it's out in the public. Twitter, Tumblr, or just the Giantbomb site.

Oh wow, they've posted a lot of stuff on the beta site recently. I was going to make videos of just the presentation parts of their GOTY stuff, but someone on staff saved me the effort.

To spite brad
Not really, he's a stand up gent
, I beat Hell in Spelunky last night. Was 23k short of the 500k cheevo :'(

EDIT: God damn it, girlfriend left herself logged in. OHWELL.

On the topic of Spelunky, I played Spelunky (the shitty freeware version) and my god it's awesome. I suspect the XBLA version is a lot better but this scratches my itch just fine. I've already reached the last boss in two days, now I just gotta kill him and run through again to try and get the ultra-secret area.

When I first encountered a kissing booth, I was like "I wonder if I can whip the lady". So I did and the shopkeeper lost his shit and said "Hey! Only I can do that!" and blew me away with his shotgun. I was laughing my ass off at the absurdity I didn't care I died on a good run.

I prefer how the freeware version of the games looks. Something about that super clean style of cartoony art doesn't appeal to me.

I think I prefer it as well, blocks and terrain is always easy to identify amongst the background, and I prefer blocky sprites to high-res 2d art.

I bet someone here remembers...what was that quicklook of this bad game that was first person, and a dead guy flipped in the air and into some crazy position, and Jeff lost his shit?

Wow, stunned at the Anarchy Reigns love here. I bought it because it's Platinum, and they're the one developer I'll support unquestionably (maybe Naughty Dog too). My copy isn't here yet though, and I think the game looks pretty boring. Not done with the QL yet though, so maybe I'm in for a treat.

I don't know how you can say that after seeing the game in action. It's unbridled anarchy set to an awesome soundtrack. Unless you're one of those freaks who only plays games for the story. *snort*

I think it looks graphically wretched. Escort missions, mindless fodder enemies, jank...

Multiplayer looks good though, which is the whole point of the game.

Original scripts for the GOTY stuff going up on Seaserpent. I hope they upload way more behind the scenes for CollectSHUN because I want to triangulate where Jeff lives so we can be best friends because I feel like a lot of the stuff in the script that didn't end up in the final version, and a lot of the behind the scenes stuff we saw, was funny.

That's actually fairly apt, save for the increased emphasis on melee than ranged.

Man, Phantom dust was the best game that my simian brain could not wrap itself around.

Is it? It vaguely reminded me of PD because of the low price and the grimy, post apocalyptic, but very Japanese aesthetic. I might just pick this up if the multiplayer pacing is similar.

Also, yes, I enjoyed being mediocre in Phantom Dust.

Patrick posted a 47 minute audio file for transcription on Amazon Mechanical Turk

Only 25 dollars? WHERE IS THAT CBSI MONEY KLEPTOK

I bet it doesn't pay THAT great. I mean it's journalism.

Try to do something to get more features on the site in a timely manner, and you guys make it weird. good job!

Honestly came across it by accident while trying to make some extra money doing transcriptions and was like HEY I KNOW THAT NAME

Word of advice, there is a way to hide your links so that someone has to accept the HIT before they can see it.

Weird thread is weird.
