it's mainly having to rely on your teammates that is what makes it frustrating. you can be the best at it but if anyone else fucks up their role, everyone is punished.

oh ok. i've only done the defend one portal at a time method

I think it's easier to do one at a time and have the relic holder defend the conflux using his super while three other dudes rotate between the gate and the confux.
