In college, one of the pranks we used to pull on other dorms was to put bouillon cubes in their shower heads since they had a ton of empty space and could be disassembled easily.

I imagine the concept could also be used with soap somehow.

Gotta agree with Tricky. MGS2 and MGS4 were too much Kojima. MGS1 and MGS3 were masterpieces.

Naw man, more Kojima = more awesome. Don't think about it or rationalize it, just buckle up for the ride. I enjoyed 2&4 infinitely more than 1&3.

I don't understand how their panties get so ruffled over the ridiculous MGS mythology and yet they embrace stupid Saints Row 3.

Did the very same.

Ladies on the floor above us and below us would smell of beef bouillion from time to time.

I'm sure they loved it.

I think MGS3 is how I prefer my Kojima

Totally saturday morning cartoon antics of villains that meow like cats and control bees but then also totally dramatic fights, as well.

I agree most with Jeff on the MGS games, although I like MGS 1 and 3 way more than he does. I think that 2 and 4 (and ESPECIALLY Rising) are the best at embracing the fucking madness of the MGS storyline. I guess I like them more because I never really cared about the deeper message of the MGS games and just took them as these crazy pieces of spectacle more than anything.

MGS3 was the point where MGS went from being about messages at the core of the experience with crazy plot as window dressing, to self-indulgence about a mythos which is bleh. MGS3 tried to balance it, but that's where it started.

actually come to think of it, outside of ocelot finger-guns and mount snakemore, i'm not sure what was that "crazy" about mgs4 that wasn't already introduced in past games.

One has 30 minute cutscenes about the military industrial complex and is influenced by anime, the other is deliberately stupid as hell and prominently features wrestling and cyberpunk.

But I don't remember any 30 minute cutscenes in Saints Row The Third???

This Metal Gear talk (and the fact that I just bought the HD collection during the XBLA sale) makes me want to replay the series.

2>3>1>4, by the way, but they're all awesome.

"Philanthropy," guys. That's a big word, right? Mention Bioware and I'm gonna say "philanthropy" every time. "He's doing philanthropy." That's the correct use, yeah?

I don't know how, I don't know why but the talk about what they want Mass Effect to be has convinced me to finally go and buy the trilogy.

This is seriously one of the best episodes of the Bombcast. Last weeks episode was amazing as well but this episode had me laughing so fucking hard.

Just following orders, eh.

Lara's brutal kill animations are much more graphic and sadistic than anything in previous TR games.

When you're pushed, killing's as easy as breathing.

As usual, Patrick pisses me off. You can't get mad at a game for not being what you wished it was. If you have a criticism of a game, criticize it for what it attempts to do. You don't get upset if a comedy isn't dramatic enough.

You're upset because Patrick wanted more open-world exploration in a Tomb Raider game? It's a perfectly legitimate criticism.

It's not. They never called it or advertised it ever being an open world game. Wanting that when it was never promised is personal preference, not legitimate criticism.
