This is my suspicion right now - there's just too much out there indicating that Sam was at least originally intended to be Kurt's BF to convince me just yet that Murphy et al. went in a complete 180 from that plan. But we'll see whether future episodes offer any support for that.

Anyway, I hear the complete soundtrack from the Rocky Horror episode leaked. Hooray for awkward censorship! (Mercedes as
Frank-N-Furter is certainly, um, inspired.
)
it's been hinted that Darren Criss: http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/101015/Darren-Criss-Glee_510.jpg is going to be a potential love interest, as another out gay singer at the rival HS

A few of my friends adore "a very potter musical" but I never got around to watching it.

I definitely will now.

This is a show that has outright said there are only two atheist characters, has a single massively stereotypical gay character (not complaining, just saying), and refuses to actually include another characters' 'two gay dads' as actual characters in the show.

And anyone actually expects them to add a bisexual male character? Maybe in the first half of the first season, when the show was actually about outsiders, I could have seen it getting to such a groundbreaking move like that, but not anymore. Things are too cozy where they are.

I don't think you guys who are suggesting this grasp how far onto another level of taboo bisexual men are, at least in terms of television representations. The only comparable example I can think of is Jack Harkness in Doctor Who, and that was a British TV show run by an openly gay showrunner, and even then they had to have him be from the 50th century or whatever to justify it.

Even in terms of female examples, Willow had to "turn gay" rather than "be bisexual", and female bisexuality is far more societally acceptable than male.

Also, given how poorly they handled atheism on this show, I dread to see how they'd deal with male bisexuality.

That's not Jack's justification - his justification is that he has sex with anything and everything. :lol

In general that may be true, but I doubt anyone wanting songs from the Rocky Horror Picture Show specifically would be completely oblivious to their tone and meaning.

Censoring these songs in particular defeats their entire purpose and I don't know why they would even consider doing a RHPS episode if they aren't going to go full force with it.

It makes about as much sense as a glee performance of Rent. RHPS is racy, but they still went overboard with the censorship. Touch-a touch-a touch me has had so many verses changed, it's ridiculous. They could have chosen any number of other songs, but they chose that and butchered it.

As for sweet transvestite, since when was transsexual an offensive term? Also, Mercedes should NOT be singing that song.

The justification for him existing as a bisexual male, not his justification for being bisexual.

Did anyone else notice in the last episode how genuinely pissed the pianist was when Rachel messed with his hair and glasses

Yeah. I found it quite funny.

The pianist is the best character, mind. Damn right he should be pissed.

Didn't both Santana and Brittanny pretty much said they were bisexuals in the last episode?
I mean, Santana said she was with Brittanny because Puck was away. If she wasn't bisexual, she wouldn't be all over Britanny, literally.

I don't know why they would censor touch a touch a touch a touch me when they don't censor science fiction picture show (I'm thinking the "I really got hot" line- a guy was singing it in the movie but this is clearly a girl and most likely Quinn whose character also headed up a celibacy church group on campus-implied lesbianism much? How is that NOT offensive. On both counts.)

But man, John Stamos has still got it (not that anyone couldn't kill that song, but still).

I never really noticed before but Jayma Mays really has amazing bone structure.

Too bad her character is so useless on this show 90% of the time, because I did enjoy her work on Heroes.
I've really liked her character progression this season, she has been a lot more self confident and has been one of the more consistent characters so far. (Which for Glee is a feat in itself.)

Well that's not really that much of a feat since she's only been in two episodes so far all season, for like 4 minutes of total screentime. ;-)

Well why the fuck are they doing Rocky Horror if they're just going to butcher it? They pushed my limits with Bohemian, this might be the point of "can't be bothered to return".

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Wait...Artie just got laid and hes cryin ? come on.....he could have just refused to do it.

Puck won't be in the RHPS episode.

That has no bearing on who should have done it. This ep is giving me indigestion and I always love Glee. They are not doing this correctly.

Kurt should have been Columbia. Brad=Finn, Janet=Quinn, Magenta=Rachel - to set up come romantic conflict backstage.

Sheesh!

This show (Rocky) means a lot to me and this will seriously piss me off.

I think you guys are taking this a little bit too seriously...

You should never care about entertainment.

A show I love in and out is making huge horrible decisions about something I've loved for years when they should be able to knock this out of the park

I care about that.

But...Kurt is really good at the Riff-Raff voice, and Quinn deserves more interesting storylines than Finn/Rachel drama would bring about...

Last week's episode was terrible. Enough with the bullshit showtunes that most of your audience has no interest in. Random pop music please.

Glee is Glee. Take it or leave it. It will never be what you want it to be. No amount of continual whining will change that really.

It would be nice if Glee could decide what Glee is. :)

Honestly, I'm pretty curious about the choice of who plays Frankenfurter. I kind of like the way they're gender-swapping it, and I'm interested to see how they costume her to justify it being 'sweet transvestite' (I haven't looked at any of the production shots and only saw a brief teaser of it, so if they've shown her in costume I haven't seen it yet). I assume it won't be in garter and corset.

My first thought was Kurt for Frankenfurter, but if they were going to go male I actually think Will would have been far more entertaining. The choice of who to make Kurt actually works quite well to me.

I kind of think they only put the guy who plays Sam into the show because of how utterly perfect he is for Rocky, though.

How old is that dude supposed to be? He looks like he's 30...

He graduated from college last year, so probably 23. Which is still several years younger than many other actors (including several on this show) who've played high school juniors. :lol

For what it's worth, my biggest concern with Criss' character's possible arc is
the idea that Kurt might find true love with literally the first other out gay kid he's ever met. Not that their relationship couldn't be made to work with good writing, or that I expect Glee to be particularly realistic, but it does run the risk of coming off too transparently as Ryan Murphy's adolescent wish fulfillment.

If it really meant a lot to you then you should enjoy people having fun with it, even if it means gong in directions other than you imagine. People get so damned insistent on eulogizing the original versions of shows that skull-fucking the memory of them doesn't do any good, and, quite frankly, hold it back. Exhibit A: Rent fans.

It's a small pool to cast from so naturally there will be decisions that won't make everyone happy. OH WELL. It's a one-hour comedy on network TV (23 episodes a year), that has maybe 14 days at most to produce the episode. And it hasn't even fucking aired yet!

I feel you when you say it means alot to you, as it has been one of my favorite movies ever and probably my favorite musical. It is what it is, though. Everyone is due for their own interpretation it, and Glee is no exception.

I would have loved to see certain characters play certain roles (Puck as Frank-n-Furter), but it is what it is. Just enjoy it, chief

DMPrince posted a video right before me that shows her in full costume (it is kind of far away though). She looks fine.

I never whine about Glee. Glee is what I want it to be.

This is about their choices in making Rocky Horror. The show itself is fine.

Hell the crappy ep will air. Then the next one will be great.

What's the status on posting non-gaming magazine scans? The Glee cast is covering the latest GQ, and the pictures of Lea Michelle are... my second-hand embarrassment meter went off the charts.

It is alright, yeah a little bit chessy but nothing offensive IMO. Finn looks super cute with glasses and it needs more shirtless Sam <3.

heard from my best bud who works Rocky Horror cabaret shadowcast events and he says that they're basically de-gaying Rocky Horror for Glee's performance of it.

what a fucking travesty.
