Glee Season 2 |OT| How Sue "C's" it (and many blindly hate it)

I got around to watching the RHPS ep yesterday. Wasn't nearly as bad as i expected, although that could be because of my supremely lowered expectations. At least Ryan Murphy shaped a plot, albeit a rather thin one, around the musical numbers this time.

The Finn subplot worked for me. That story alone was enough to put the episode above that Britney/Brittany dreck.

He's a good showrunner, not a very adapt writer.

Hit the nail on the head. The episodes he wrote and directed in the latter half of Nip/Tuck were abysmal. I'm holding him solely accountable for the cluster-fuck that was the Nip/Tuck finale.

This says no:

I tried to find the clip that started at the dining room table and Julia's last goodbye to the guys but I can't. I hated the last few seasons of Nip/Tuck but was this really a bad way to leave the characters? Why? I thought everything ended nicely. I hate how they kept teasing Christian's change but it never happened. But that's true to life. Some people never change even when you see glimmers of hope in them. That's all I could fault the finale for.

Also, this is still the best ending to the best season of any show to date IMHO:

Ryan Murphy wrote and directed both of those. And FYI, he sold the show (Nip/Tuck) as a two season show originally. He wanted to end it here and if he had got his way I don't think any of us would complain about this show. This would of been an awesome way to go out. FX was the one who forced him to continue. I think you guys don't realize the behind the scenes going on's that can change a writer/director's vision and alter the final product. If a writer can make me care about Juila and Christian (a whore and a man whore) I say he is doing a pretty good job. Now has all this praise and the Golden Globe for Nip/Tuck gotten to his head- MAYBE. It's funny, I can see Glee going the way of Nip/Tuck already( where Ryan wants to end the series but because it's 'popular" the studio will make him continue on with it).

Then why does he even bother? You make it sound like he wants his work to not be popular/successful, which is just ass backwards. He should just quit and let the other two handle it, they do a much better job.

I just watch the Teenage Dream video. oh god :lol I'm glad that Kurt may finally get his first boyfriend. and if he does I wonder how FOX will handle it.

But that all boys performance was just gross.

Video is here, by the way.

I sorta liked the performance, but the song choice and the video itself don't make me very optimistic that this storyline will play out as something other than Ryan Murphy's Adolescent Wish Fulfillment Fantasy: The Series. But I suppose it is out of context, and some of the other spoilers I've seen give me more reason for optimism in the long run.

Perfect.

Ryan Murphy cannot write gay stories for Glee. I'm just glad that this isn't his episode.

EDIT: I fucking love Teenage Dream and that is great. I know it's over produced a capella, but it's still great.

I agree, sounds great.

New, spoiler-y, and fairly cringeworthy promo for Tuesday's episode. It would be nice if the show could just do a good storyline about anti-gay bullying without any heavy-handed "WE ARE SENDING AN INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE ABOUT A SERIOUS REAL-WORLD ISSUE" moments in either the marketing or the episodes themselves, but I suppose that would be too much to ask.

Also, the songs for next week's episode are:

Chicago - Nowadays/Hot Honey Rag
Cee-Lo - Forget You (yes, the censored radio version of Fuck You)
Singin' in the Rain vs. Rihanna - Singin' in the Rain/Umbrella
Singin' in the Rain - Make 'Em Laugh

And once again, there are only four of them! Thank god.

Darren Criss is kinda really hot. His looks will mitigate somewhat what is surely going to be a terrible story arch.

Eh, the spoilers I've seen at least give me some hope that Falchuk, Brennan, and Murphy aren't going to go in the most obvious and straightforward After School Special direction with the big Kurt storyline. But we'll just have to see whether they can pull it off.

Will watching the RHPS episode of Glee without seeing the original ruin my experience when I actually do? I want to watch the Glee episode, but if there wasn't any major plot development in the Glee episode I'll just wait until I've seen the film.

Not sure how much you'll enjoy the episode without having seen the movie, but I don't think it'd spoil anything. Rocky Horror isn't really a big plot development kind of movie anyways, I'm not sure it can genuinely *be* spoiled.

It's the other way around. The episode falls completely flat compared to the movie.

I went to high school with Darren Criss (Kurt's new friend/boyfriend/whatever)and letting you guys know he's not actually gay! Fun fact, he's actually half Filipino, I believe. Though you wouldn't know by looking at him...

Edit: Perhaps Murphy will fake us ALL out and make him a part of the Asian love situation!

If he doesn't look full Filipino, they'll either make him white or Mexican.

Charice only got cast as Filipino cause everyone already knows she is one :(
