Glee Season 2 |OT| How Sue "C's" it (and many blindly hate it)

Great episode. I know I'm like the fifth person to post this but 'Ke dollar sign ha' was fucking golden every single time Figgins said it.

The whole drunken Glee club arch and the vomiting performance were funny, but wasn't this an extremely offensive episode towards bisexuals? The parting message was "bisexuality is fake and a phase."

Ryan Murphy is embarrassing.

P.S. Brittany did more dancing in one performance than Ke£ha has done in her entire career.

Like I just said on FB it can be and was a phase for me. Ryan does far more good than bad for the community, I'd say. This was just one persons experience and it sure as hell matched mine.

I don't for a moment doubt that it is a phase for some, but there is a difference between your own personal experience and a message that is broadcasted to millions of people worldwide.

Kurt's bi-phobia was not only justified, it was ultimately not portrayed as a bad thing, and what angers me the most is that this message comes from Ryan Murphy. I'm sure you will agree with me that gay men, to this day, have their sexuality questioned every now and then. For a person that has most likely gone through the same to turn around and use it against bisexuals for a few jokes is crude and hypocritical.

To illustrate: I believe Burt questioned Kurt's sexuality at one point. The show portrayed this as wrong and ignorant. It's suddenly OK (and funny) to do the same to bisexuals?

My thinking is that it's just one character's experience. No more no less. The message he should be sending is that all sorts of LGBT issues are fine for TV, rather than trying to be the poster child for political correctness. That's just my take though.

I liked this episode. Kinda highlighted for me how overboard they have gone with Sue though. Throwing a guy down stairs multiple times to take out the director, assaulting students, destroying school property, etc.... she would have been fired 80x over and would be in jail right now.

Doesn't detract from me enjoying the show, but it is rather silly.

Bah. This was the first episode in awhile that I'd really been enjoying, and they had to ruin it with that crap from Kurt. Calling yourself bi is a phase that some gay men go through, but it felt incredibly forced in this episode, and as Koodo said, it seemed to inappropriately justify Kurt's claims about bisexuality.

Oh well. The rest was entertaining.

Sue has thrown people down the stairs, assaulted children and destroyed school property from the moment they introduced her. She's stayed within her normal patterns of behavior.

This episode reminded me why I hate Kurt so much. The Rachel-Blain thing was a great idea and they shot it down immediately.

The alcohol plot felt shallow, this was a "meh" episode for me.

But I did love 'Don't you want me baby"

God I love Brittany. Seriously, god damn - especially after missing out on seeing her in her underwear in the last episode. Kurt annoys me to no end, though, and I didn't like how everything worked out for him in the end.

Also Figgins was on fire. "Tik and also Tok from rapper Ke-dollar sign-ha".

This show is so schizophrenic I swear. Don't get me wrong, I still find the fun in any episode (including last week's.. >_<) but this week's ep was especially solid. This and The Substitute are far and away the best written episodes of the season, with maybe Duets coming in a close third.

Kurt is still the only fully realized character in this whole damn show. Sue is also pretty fleshed out, but no matter how much the character progresses in one episode, she's back doing her regular shit in the next one. Hell, she even sang IN the Glee Club. And she seemed to enjoy it. I understand that she's the archetypal villain in the show so they can't have her stray away from that mode, but shit, it makes any plot point in an episode seem obsolete or short-lived because you know the writers are gonna forget it exists by the next script.

Kurt, like most characters in the episode, also gets those moments of "wait, I hated you last episode? I barely remember that because we're singing with each other right now and we're both smiling," but at least the character has shown a great deal of progression. Obviously the character has flaws, but it's the flaws that make him such a great character to follow. So many other Glee kids are one/two-trick ponies, especially Rachel. Quinn is almost fully fleshed out except for bizarre moments like kissing Finn like two weeks after she showed responsibility and self-awareness. That whole episode was a mess. Anyway, Kurt's by far the best character on here, and it's the way he can garner sympathy in one episode and then pull off some martyr shit and get hated on in the next episode that makes him special. He's a complex character. I love that about him.

Anyway, other observations about the episode:

- Drunk Rachel is the best kind of Rachel. Must have moar. Also, that civil war bride dress she had on was so wonderfully fitting. And not at all surprising.

- Kurt's anti-bi ranting provided some much needed insight into some of the hypocrisy in the gay community. I don't think they handled it all that well, but having Kurt deal with that in the first place was interesting.

- Puck and Lauren are officially the best couple in this show. So friggin' adorable. Lauren herself is definitely one of the best things about Glee this season.

- Mike Chang is also adorable. I've been crushing on him HARD ever since Duets. Dem ABS.

- Artie needs more songs. He's by far the best male singer in the group and he should be the lead in the competitions. A Rachel/Artie duet would be epic.

- I wonder what the point of Mercedes is. I'm still trying to figure that out.

- GIVE ME MORE TINA. She has a solid voice, she can be hilarious (her breakdown singing "My Funny Valentine" was especially funny) and she's been here from the start. She needs more respect writers.

- Oh Blaine. It was always you. <3

- The Sue school announcement had me in stitches. That has to go down as the most colossal burn in the history of the show. And Becky, lol

- Is it just me or was Mrs. Pillsbury especially cute this episode? I never really noticed her like that before but she was absolutely gorgeous in this episode. I dunno.

- Brittany was of course awesome. When she barfs on Rachel then turns and says "Drink responsibly," I died.

- The Sam/Santana pairing is just another example of the writers' lever-pulling method of forming relationships on this show. I can't wait for Santana to dump him the next episode and get with Mike Chang. Or Artie. Or whoever else is left.

Anyway, more episodes like this please.

The episode was awesome LOL

Blaine looked so fucking hot when he was drunk hehehe. He needs a haircut though. The types of drunks by Finn was funny, specially Tina and Mercedes, they cracked me up just by watching them laugh. Not surprising at Brit for being a slutty drunk. Heather Morris' body is amazing and she killed it in Tik Tok by Ke dollar sign ha. She's so fierce and she sounded exactly like Kesha does...

Kurt was looking buff at the party and Rachel... wtf was she wearing.? That dress was D: Speaking of her, the Headband song was ten different kinds of awful, wth gurl.

I get why Burt got angry at Kurt but it's kinda unfair to him since he was trying to be responsible. Everybody looked great during Blame it on the alcohol. In all, awesome ep. Rachel should get drunk more often.

1) TOTALLY! I thought he was cute before he became panty-droppingly hot in this episode. I need to meet him & get him drunk like that.
2) Is that for real? I never realised his dad was name Burt, that's frickin' hilarious. I'm seriously dwl over here!

Am I the only one that thinks Mike Chang should get more screen time? I think Brittany should break up with Artie and get With Mike. Not only would they make a cute couple, but they have good chemistry (off camera too, as seen here), and it would mean more screen time and an actual story line involving Mike.

I used to love Kurt but I'm now all for Blaine. XD

I agree Chris doesn't go well for that song but I think is not bad just weird looking.

That Animal cover is fantastic.

I wish they would just kiss already.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she didn't actually physically assault someone until late S1 or this season. My point is that they have ramped up the craziness of her character and taken it a little too far.

She's always assaulted kids & teachers. She has always gone too far. What show have you been watching?

So the Glee kids have given up drugs alcohol and now sex... Did some conservative Christians get a hold of this show or something?

Loved the episode. The Santana scene at the end was great. So was Kurt and Burt talk. Episode are so good when Rachel has no plotline. Much better than the alcohol episode.

Also WTF at Emma? She hasn't slept with her husband yet.

This episode was alright. The scene with Santana and Brittany was really well done though. I give the writers credit with that and the fact that Brittany doesn't want to leave Artie because she is in love with him. Also, I knew it was a matter of time before Quinn and Finn got back together but from the time that Quinn and Sam broke up to Quinn getting back with Finn was just a little quick. I know they kissed and felt the "fireworks" and what not, but the scene with them making out at Quinn's moms house, left me wondering..when the hell did they get back together ya know? Also, I hope Will doesn't go after Emma WHEN he learns that she still has feelings for him. I say let him be with Holly for a little bit. Also, The Warbler's rendition of Animal by Neon Trees was atrocious. By far their worse outing. I think the bubbles and beach balls killed it for me. But yea, stoked for next week's episode. Original songs FTW!

Agreed about Animal. They destroyed Neon Tree's best song.

Yeah I can let a lot slide on this show, suspend my disbelief quite a bit, but this is total BS. There is no one alive that could resist Stamos after a day, let alone four months! When they got married I thought she had some good sense, but after this revelation, smh. Can we please kill Emma off; there is nothing redeemable about this woman at all now.

Just watched the episode and I thought it was pretty good. I really like Gwyneth but I think she took a lot of screentime and had too many songs.

Emma looked adorable during Afternoon Delight and the whole performance was so funny... the costumes, the pics of the cakes LOL Of course she thinks the song is about a dessert.

An unpopular opinion but I really liked Animal. It's probably the first Kurt song I like. WTF at his faces, they were so ridiculous. I'm glad Blaine adressed that. Burt is really a good father isn't he? Is this the first show in a major network to talk about gay sex so openly? I think they did a good job with that. On another note, why would The Warblers follow Sue's advice? Kurt knows she is not trustworthy.

As for Brittana... I really liked Landslide because it sounded just like the Dixie Chicks version so I guess it was ok. When Sam told Artie that he would like to be as close to him just like Santana and Brittany were, I said "Yes plz, there's potential for a Sam/Artie fanfic" LMAO. I thought that the whole issue with Santana was handled very well and of course she looked so hot during the episode but honey, those pants you were wearing during Landslide? Fug.

Quinn and Finn? Meh. We know Finn and Rachel are going to be together in the end... I find this storyline pointless.

Can't wait for next week, yay!

Santanna and Brit was really touching. Quinn and Finn turns my stomach. Burt/Kurt was again really touching, as was Blaine's talk with Burt.

Finally, Gwynneth is a perfect fit on this show. Moar Moar!

Glee!

Will Gwyneth be a recurring guest now? Surprised at that ending only because I thought she'd be gone and return in a year or so a la Chenoweth.

Amazing episode though. It was more descriptive than any sex ed class I was ever given in school. I don't know if that says more about sex ed in schools though (not even going to mention how heteronormative all those classes were and I am assuming still are).

The Brittany/Santana scenes were flawless. I hope they get more screen time. Actually, this whole focus away from Rachel and Finn is a blessing.

Expecting next episode to be absolute shit given the Glee Sinusoidal Function™
