I was still older than him when those games got released, the only one I had was the Gameboy Godzilla game. Which being the massive fanboy I was, played the ever loving daylights out of all despite how hard I found it.

I've only played Destroy All Monsters Melee and I didn't like it as much, I was excited about Save the Earth but something about it always felt "off" for a Godzilla game and eventually my hyped died down. Only Godzilla games that I'd come back to here and again was the Game Gear and SNES beat em up ones. I loved those two.

I am loving this game, though I don't know if I want to focus my upgrades on Burning Godzilla or just Godzilla. Can you unlock the spiral heat beam for regular Godzilla?

I did a Mecha King Ghidorah "Defend" run and got her and most of the other destroyers that way. She's not in easy path though, I think.. have to do it on Hard. But MKG is super overpowered sooooo~

Nearly all the monsters can be gotten via the Defend mode so once you get Mecha King Ghidorah (easy path on Go Ashore?) you can start unlocking everything else. From there, you can get the other Defend monsters save for Kiryu and Jet Jaguar by playing as Biollante in Invade.

I was able to get a Mothra Larva cell from King of Kaiju but it is very luck of the draw to get something from that, though it's very quick with the right kaiju.

My suggestion:
1) Do a normal Godzilla run of Go Ashore while trying to get as high of a disaster level as you can on easy (a higher disaster level seems to change who you'll encounter) until you get Mecha King Ghidorah
2) Run through all of Mecha King Ghidorah's paths on Defend, going for "Unknown" when they pop up
3) Unlock the other Defenders with Biollante (Super Mechagodzilla, Mothra Larva/Adult)

And after you're done you should only have to get Destroyah (hard Invade path boss/Burning Godzilla final boss, always 100m?) and Kiryu (get over 50% data collection?)

Destoroyah is always 100m. Him and Biollante should always pop in the bottom hard Go Ashore path.

Only missing Destroyah now. Somehow got Kiryu on an all-hard Invade with Biollante despite having only like 30% data completion.

My Mecha King Ghidorah is maxed out atm. Have cells to upgrade normal Godzilla but uh... unfortunately I don't have any evolution energy because I haven't been playing as him much. Not sure which Godzilla to upgrade! D:

Godzooky - Shunsuke Fujita mentioned in an interview that he would consider adding any available monster to the game, jokingly mentioning even Godzooky. Godzooky was most likely not actually considered for the game.

Jet Jaguar is relatively easy to get parts for, I think... just spam the first Go Ashore stage and get to 50-60~ percent destruction and rush the generator to get him to spawn.

Mothra (Adult) could take some time though. I never got to her in a Godzilla run (I mainly did easy though) but was able to easily find her in a hard Invade run.

I think they hint at it, but in Go Ashore, you need to do the data collection for about 50% of the stages in order to unlock the next set of stages for that mode only, I believe.

In order to unlock things, you have a few options.

1) Defeat kaiju in the main Go Ashore mode and obtain evolution cells (only option available to you in God of Destruction at first)
2) Get cells by playing King of Kaiju mode (only receive one randomly from the six you fight and one cell of the kaiju you play as)
3) Defeat kaiju in Invade/Defend with kaiju other than Godzilla (I find this is the easiest way to get parts but you'll have to play as Godzilla eventually if you want 100% data collection at least)

I've yet to do mission 25 on Go Ashore. I was able to get Jet Jaguar pretty consistently despite not having done much in the game when I started playing. In fact, I think he was the first Defender I got before Mecha King Ghidorah. However, it's extremely hard for me to get Jet Jaguar to appear anywhere other than the first stage. They do mark where he can appear after you get him from the first stage so you know he will pop up, but I guess I'm not getting to 50-60% fast enough.

Been trying to get him to appear on Invade missions but I keep destroying a bit too much or the other kaiju spawns before I can destroy the generator.

i did not know this game existed until i saw james and mike play it on cinemassacre.com today. at the very beginning when godzilla's tail just went through the buildings i knew it would be a piece of shit, and i see the reviews back that up. how can you fuck up a godzilla game this bad? giant monster wrecking cities should be one of the handful of ideas that should be automatically amazing on modern tech.

Game is far from a piece of shit. Basically if you're looking for a great action game then you're not going to be happy. If you're looking for a Godzilla simulator, with all the good and bad that entails, then it's very entertaining.

I got Adult Mothra by running King Ghidorah on the top easy path. Stage 7 I think. It was a "?" stage.

I got lucky and got adult Mothra on a mix of easy and normal through one invade run with Mecha King Ghidorah. I always take the ? for enemies avenue no matter the difficulty. If the Kaiju isn't 100 meters, you'll unlock whomever shows up.

MKG and KG are the bomb. I loved flying and using his lasers tearing up the city, just awesome. I believe now I need Biollante, Destroyah and Kiryu. Need to level up my boy Anguirus too.

Keep away, use your roar, and attack with your beam. Also if you fail and retry it should spawn equal to your height.

The actual presentation is good though, and all the Godzilla through the ages content is well done.

It's a shame that there's also not a lot of content for a $60 game.

tbh, I don't think you're supposed to be able to normally unless you are VERY good >_> They just combo you to death. They do seem to always respawn at 55~ m after you do a 'continue' after getting walloped though.

The people who reviewed this probably have the same sentiments but I wonder just what else they wanted from a Godzilla game. What else is needed beyond what is there already for the core game?

I have played games that were 20 dollar digital downloads and there is far less content in those than this. I suppose it depends on what kind of game you wanted to begin with. I THINK a lot of people went into this game wanting an arcade brawler.
