GOG's #NoDRM Summer Sale [UP: Last day]

Already have Torchlight on Steam... well time to add it to my GOG library.

The Alan Wake bundle is still worth it for those who miss out the Humble Bundle Weekly offer.

Torchlight is 7.49 for me?

Apparently just have to put it in your cart and see, eh? Tryin' it now.
Ok just had to log in actually. <3

How long is the sale gonna last for ? 2 weeks? Cuz if so I may not be able to make any purchases til the end of this month @_@

Why did they have to include three crappy games that I don't ever want to pay money for in with the D&D bundle?! WHY?!

Sure, it's self-promotion, but they're consistent with the core message, and making a point of promoting the concept in the news post about the sale:

Normally, this paragraph would serve to further encourage you to go crazy with our extravagant and exciting offers. We'll get to that. But there's something important we'd like to address first. At GOG.com. we talk a lot about the importance of giving gamers the ability to play their games where they want, whenever they want, and how they want. Gamers should be able to play their games on any device they own in any location, no matter the Internet quality. There is only one way to ensure that: No DRM.

In the last few months, there has been a lot of outcry from gamers over DRM and how it is changing our favorite form of entertainment. If it keeps growing, it may well take a large part of the fun out of gaming. As anti-DRM crusaders, we're very glad to see that the issue of restrictive digital rights management has become an item of public debate, and we want to make sure that our #NoDRM stance is clear. None of the games in our sale have DRM, and none of our games ever will.

Given the discount difference, it's quite possible it'd be cheaper to buy the bundle *with* those games than buying them individually.

It most certainly is cheaper to buy it together, I'd just be able to better justify the purchase in my neurotic head if it didn't include those games.

Bought Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition (that's enough for now) and Torchlight, of course.
Hmm. Haven't finished a single game i've bought from GOG yet... Fallout 1 doesn't count, since i skipped everything (speed-run).

oooh i missed the humble alan wake...

hmmm...

someone sell me on alan wake. money isn't the issue, but free time is. I liked max payne 1-2.

It's one of my favorite games of the generation. As much as i subjectively like it though, there's definitely some problems with it. I think PandaPandaPanda's post sums it up well. I wouldn't say the core game play is particularly bad though, in fact i think it's quite good. It's just as many have stated before, there's little in the way of variety and their idea of escalation, is just throwing more numbers at you. I think it's a game that lends itself to playing in bursts, because of that. A chapter every so often.

The attention to detail, interesting story, tremendous atmosphere and incredible soundtrack are the games strong points though. The PC port is also pretty damn decent.

It's a steal, at what they're asking for it.

Dungeon & Dragons Bundle $21.10 (80% off if you buy the bundle, 50% off individual games. If you already have some of the D&D games, the bundle price will be lowered accordingly).
Baldur's Gate 1
Baldur's Gate 2
Icewind Dale 1
Icewind Dale 2
Planescape: Torment
Neverwinter Nights 1
Neverwinter Nights 2
Temple of Elemental Evil
D&D Dragonshard
Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone
All games include all of their official expansion packs.

The best collection of RPGs ever? Yes.

Bought Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition (that's enough for now)
Fine choice. The vanilla campaign is rightly shat on (though with a group of friends it is plenty fun), but the expansion campaigns and premium modules are more than worth your time. There are hundreds of free fan-made modules online, some of them even good, and the toolset is a great way to learn C programming and RPG design.

Also has a Dungeon Master mode if that is your thing. It's fiddly, but put in the work and you have a very successful digital recreation of D&D 3rd edition.

Great atmosphere.
Interesting story.
Amazing landscapes and lighting effects. (seriously, there were so many "WOW" moments in this game in that regard; especially when after an hour or so of running/hiking you turn back and see places where you started the chapter)
Fun, although after few hours monotonous fighting mechanics.

The game mainly suffers from lack of variety.

This is super weird, how the heck do I put the Alan Wake bundle in the cart? I already put a couple other games in the cart but the AW bundle page only has a check out now button which doesn't include the other games... so strange.

Thanks for the reply guys. Hopefully there wont be a sale on something i want tho by now i happen to have all the games i would want from gog

IIRC, you have to buy bundles in one go, you can't put them in the cart as part of a later larger purchase.

This is maybe a glitch, but do you notice that the newer releases appear to be not included in the sale? They actually are; Just put the game(s) in the cart and check out. I got Project Eden and Wizardry 8 for $8. :)

Edit: Looks like they fixed the glitch. Oh well.

This is all kinds of awesome. GOG has quickly become my favorite website. It has completely replaced my steam addiction this past year.

If you don't own a console, please buy Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, it's the best fighting game on PC!
