I'm kind of confused. Why is "Her' nominated as a Comedy? I thought it was kind of a serious/drama?

All of the "comedies" in that category are serious dramas. It's a vestigial remain from when many more musicals used to be released yearly over 30 years ago. Nowadays it's a bullshit excuse to pander to studios and stars. More nominees = more star power on the show.
