Good, spacious, reasonably cheap laptops?

Since, I'm getting a summer job, and my home computer is running extremely low on space (4 GBs left) due to all the music I download/ rip, and I'll be buying &ripping tons more with my paycheck.. I'm thinking of gettng a laptop... I'd like around 60 or 80 GB. I don't know anything at all about computers, I'm not sure whether I want a notebook or a regular.. a pc or an apple... so... yeah. Just throw things at me. Again, relatively cheap.. no more than $900, I'd say.

Do you need a laptop for any other reason? 'Cause it would probably just make more sense to buy external HD's. I also have a ton of ripped and d/l'ed music on my computer... which is why I have four 250gb Maxtor USB 2.0 drives. A terabyte of storage for less than the price of a laptop.

Wow.. that sounds like a great idea. How much does one cost?

Yeah, how much does this cost?

My fucking 80 GB, piece of shit external hard drive is giving me problems, and I'm afraid I'm about to lose all of my music. 200 GB wouldn't be bad...

I hear buying a hard drive and the enclosure separately is the way to go. I don't know how to do anything when it comes to computer hardware, though.
