Good Subreddits

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I know everybody here likes to shit on subreddits and believe me I'm quite understanding of that especially with the stupid down vote system and how a lot of it is very political.

But perhaps we can list some good subreddits here. Contribute something positive for a change.

One that comes to mind for me is r/40klore. I rarely get a down vote there and more often than not get upvoted even for somewhat common questions. It's almost like they cater to newbies and that's something a lot of subreddits don't do. Plus, they pretty much avoid politics. No this or that about Donald Trump or anything on that idea. It's strictly focused on the lore of Warhammer 40,000.

I've had very little to no trouble with that forum. It's one of those places that I actually feel a little comfortable in. I imagine a lot of the mods or the person who runs it is an older gentleman or gentle woman who keeps things leaning and in control.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Subreddits that are not assholes and are welcoming to people? A place run by mature people without a stick up their ass?

With r/AskHistorians you get an interesting range of questions asked about history. The subreddit’s strict rules on depth and sourcing keep the replies informed and well-supported. This helps ensure that answers come from knowledgeable individuals rather than random people pulling an answer out of their ass.

r/JRPG and r/metroidvania are actually pretty decent for gaming related discussions.

r/japanesepeopletwitter was fun for a while and it's still not shit, but I'm wary of the moderation. r/LearnJapanese is pretty good.

Out of the 440 subreddits I joined, these are the only ones I'd actually "recommend". I went through my upvote page briefly to see what the fuck I'm doing all day on reddit: 70% of it is kpop, 10% is porn and the other 20% are split amongst subs to like specific tv show or games, which don't lend themselves well to being recommended.

r/AskHistorians is also fantastic, but was already mentioned. I have a feeling r/SipsTea was A LOT better a year or so ago, with the rapid growth it's turning into r/all type of cringe.
