Graphically, it's possible. But it all depends on Konami's budget and market projections.

I really dunno - Salamander (Life Force in US/Asia) was really great and I really loved the sequel on Saturn.

It's not an exception for Konami - we have yet to get Xexex and Thunder Cross sequels.

Nemesis '90, a totally exclusive Gradius game for the obscure Sharp X68000 16-bit computer in Japan, a gaming computer which crushed the original Amiga technically much like the Master System crushed the NES in specs.... whoops sorry for going off topic, you know me

Ceb, I've figured it out, I think....

When SH2 was first shown (late summer '00), it was already almost 50% complete. Same with SH3 and 4.

I imagine Team Silent doesn't want to show off a 'target render'... so realistically, I expect SH5, at the earliest, to be at the Sony show in Jan... possibly E3 '06, with a big trailer @ TGS '06. Playable demo @ E3 '07. Summer-Fall '07 release on PS3.

didja ever play salamander II? it's available on saturn and playstation in the "salamander deluxe pack," and it's really very good. gradius V is sort of a salamander/gradius hybrid too.

Because of the nature of the game, a space shooter, Gradius has a better chance successfully working in 3D compared to Contra or Castlevania, both on foot action games.
