Can you refresh my memory? I kinda remember that... but I kinda don't.The oil filter change trick is still there for undriven cars. Remember to change the oil for that extra HP.
Did the update make the clutch work any better?
Did the update make the clutch work any better?
I'd love to know this as well, but I'm not getting my hopes up about PD ever having a working clutch in GT...
Still blows my mind how they've ignored the issue.

Same old same old....
GT needs a change
If by fixed you mean if you can still shift gears while you have your foot on the accel? You can with about 1/4 accel pedal travel, you don't have to depress the pedal completely.

Sounds like the Acadamy demo at 1080p, which also gave me a headache. 720p was much better, I understand it is the same here. You'd think they'd just make it a 720p game if it's as bad as you say (and I have no reason to doubt you).the frame rate and tearing in cockpit view is atrocious. It is almost constantly at a level of the worst moments of tearing and frame drops in GT5 pre-patch. This is concerning, I started to get a headache from 30 minutes of game play. I am going to try 720p later today, but wow. I mean it is really really bad.
MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD, PAL
FERRARI
Does it slip back to neutral if you miss or just crunch?
My right leg is a little lazy after surgery and GT5 was so frustrating. Never had a problem with any other game.
Definitely get it. Ignore the review scores. If he likes GT, he's gonna like this. So, now that some of you have been playing it: yay or nay? My husband has been a GT fan since GT2 and I've been looking forward to surprising him with this on Christmas. Should I buy it for him or not? If it meas he'll be swearing at the game through Christmas, I would rather not.
It will crunch, it won't slip into neutral unless you are over the 1/4 gas pedal indicator thingy on screen. This works the same for downshifting as well, so heel-toes won't shift you into neutral as often as GT5.
You might have a problem going from 1->2 tho, I can't seem to shift without letting go of the gas completely.
However, as a driving simulator, so far the driving model seems improved enough to warrant the purchase alone. [/B]
Also I thought amar said that their was persistent car damage between races, did the patch take it out?!
Nope.
On top of previusly known detoriation now there is permanent damage in the career mode.
Yes, yes, YES!
Maintenance and Ownership Consequences FTW!
Cons:
-Yeah it looks amazing for a PS3 game but...the frame rate and tearing in cockpit view is atrocious. It is almost constantly at a level of the worst moments of tearing and frame drops in GT5 pre-patch. This is concerning, I started to get a headache from 30 minutes of game play. I am going to try 720p later today, but wow. I mean it is really really bad.
-Tired game design. Zero imagination. GT6 is a new trail through the same woods we all know by heart. Any hopes of a complete overhaul are going to once again be pushed to, "maybe next time" PD has no idea how to make the "game" part of these games.
-Sound is still shit, but we knew that. I do appreciate at least the more subtle variations of tire noises though.
-AI is dumb fuck awful garbage, but we knew that
-Feels out dated instantly. Nothing to do with the graphics, it is just their approach to game design. The ridiculous music, the substance-less flash at the cost of functionality, the idea that you can never have enough "cool" things and that more is always better. No amount of frame rate and P's are going to make this game feel next gen if it gets a PS4 port
I am quite surprised to hear you say that actually. Fact is that fully patched (not sure how much of GT5 you played but the physics underwent changes via patches) GT5's suspension modeling was already in advance of anything short of Assetto Corsa. Its just that the tyre model was not quite right and PD never both to accurately model things like clutches, collisions and whatever.
But I have never in my life heard any PC sim racer acknowledge anything good about the simulation in a console game. But GT6's physics model deserves praise, its amazing given the right car and track. Racing the BMW Z8 around SPA I could feel exactly how much weight was on each wheel and know exactly how much grip I had. Pure joy.
Though somethings don't seem right. I can't for the life of me get a stock GT86 to get sideways on CS tyres which should be a match for its stock tyres in real. Though it is hard to do in real due to its lack of power, its not impossible. Still with these physics on day one I cant wait to see what the game ends up turning into...
Okay, no trolling here, but I've got Forza 5 since launch on Xbox One, and sure it looks better, but the sheer amount of tracks cars, changing weather and day-night cycle is so awesome that I can't put the controller down. The only letdown are the carsounds...still too much Nilfisk.
That is really sad to hear. I was actually encouraged that the demo from the summer had no screen tearing, but it did have big framerate drops. I can't believe they actually went back to the tearing from GT5. Amazing.
Screen tearing in a racing game is absolutely unacceptable to me. It's sad that Polyphony has just lost sight of this fact, all in an effort to make a game as pretty as possible. What a waste.
Also, the sound still being so bad, and the various hold overs from a decade ago are just shameful. I remember being stunned when I booted up the summer demo and the "X" button was gas by default. I mean, really? It's 2013, not 1999.
There is so much evidence of a team (and Kaz) being this insular bunch of people who just think they have nothing to learn from anyone else. They're basically convinced they know how to do these game right, and therefore nothing changes, because they know better.

I may have become more sensitive to these things because I have been racing at 120fps/120hz for the last year. Others say 720p seems to help with the drops/tearing, I'll try that out later tonight. Also of note, I am playing on a PC monitor, which tends to make things a bit more raw. I am sure I will stop noticing after a while, especially if racing hard, but if frame drops and tearing are your personal nightmare, I would wait out a patch.
I'm not convinced a patch is coming. Not at all. I think this is just how Polyphony does things now. Push things further than they should, and oh well, screen tearing and framerate drops. It's sloppy, and it's just how they roll these days. It's incredible to think they actually pushed the resolution even higher for this game, and to what end? More frame tearing? Why the fuck would you do that? It's just dumbfounding.
I'm not buying this game. Ever.
Does the Japanese intro feature a new version of Moon over the castle?
Can you listen to it anywhere?
To be fair, they patched the shit out of GT5. The end result was far less tearing among many other improvements. This does not excuse its launch state, but less than ideal launch games is unfortunately the norm these days.
Edit: I feel strange even having to say this as I have no hesitations on calling PD out for their bullshit, but don't forget these are my initial impressions. We will have a pretty good consensus by the end of the weekend. And you can be damn sure I will have raced way more cars on way more tracks to let you know how constant these issues are.
Have I gone insane?
Didn't this pic from the GT6 website used to have 'repair body damage' or something similar?
Also I thought amar said that their was persistent car damage between races, did the patch take it out?!

: \masahiro andoh is old beans, old man.
it's all about daiki kasho now.
Are they all new? And you mean in the EU/US versions, right? Not only the Japanese one.3 versions of MOTC are added at the Music Gallery as a prize at one point of the career.
Yes, I was referring to that same official screenshot.
Body damage was not present in V1.00 and I read in manual it will be in the game, so it was logical to expect it will come in V1.01. And V 1.01 came and it still isn't there. I am disappointed, very.

Look to where it says if it is a premium or a standard, most of the time you can know which one is premium by just looking at them.Gaffers! How do I see whether a car has a cabin or not before I buy it?
