No it has not.Communication on these details of GTS have been vague at best up until now.
Even last month they made it clear.

I'd say that it's quite a bit less likely that you're never online on your PC than your console and if you want you can turn on offline permissons and play offline just fine and your game is still saved as usual. You mean like how people didn't give a shit about Forza 7 being always online on PC but then this happens and everyone is back at hating the same thing?
I guess I'm not buying this game either, going to return it once I recieve it. Sad GT use to be my favorite games of all time. All the games I've loved has gone to shit because of stupid decisions.
You didn't get my postBig fan of canceling orders that have yet to ship and have yet to charge, like they didn't even exist.
They were the biggest fans of the franchise but after hearing the news? Cancelled.
You should not buy this game if your only focus is to play the single player content.
No it has not.
Even last month they made it clear.
Serioulsy? Didn't you see the constant back and forth with Is this the next proper GT or a Prologue?, Is this GT7?, Is GT7 coming later? Yes, in all but name. No, it's something different. With Kaz saying this and that. Some of these questions are still being asked by people in the OT.Haha no it hasn't what's the misinformation that they didn't announce everything from the outset? Every game does that.

Not working and I'm not the only one with the same issue. I already did all those "tips" before, I'm not talking about this without trying first.
You didn't get my post
This guy below does.....
Remember when this forum tore MS a new one when they tried to pull this shit with the xbone... Oh how we laughed.
No, I got it. I was just being a smart ass about Amazon.
No it wasn't, there was a lot of vague stuff in regards to the offline functionality of the game. Especially about Arcade. Heck, for a while there people were trying to figure out whether everything in Arcade mode would be playable offline (because they said something to the effect of "Arcade mode will be limited offline"), or did they mean that there is some sort of customize race option in arcade mode to allow for online play with 2 player etcNo it has not.
Even last month they made it clear.
I followed both ;pIt's your fault to not checking psblog and gtplanet every 5 minutes.
But its not the sameWe should have a thread about overwatch. This has gone far enough!
Don't tell me this is not the same.
Blizzard could've let us train with the characters when the servers are offline. It's unacceptable.
It plays amazingly well. Hope you can give it a shot later in time.
Or maybe soneone like me who has been playing GT until GT5 and the last thing I was expecting was that the game put me to play against other humans...i mean I didnt do specific research because I take things like this for granted, like for example I have played MLB the show since the first one was ever release and I only play it for the franchise to play against the AI, so when I go and buy The Show I assume I can play the game without having to play against other humans because I already have enough with dealing with cheap players, experts players, players that cheese the game, players that will have better hardware to have an edge on the game. Etc in other MP games.Online focused game requires onlineness shocka.
Exactly who is getting their knickers in a twist here?
Xbox fanboys who were never going to buy it or just stupid people?
As I said before, didn't work. I'm not the only one with the same problem. Been through this multiple times in fact.
How's that an excuse? I'm pointing out that people didn't care until this happened.
I guess I'm not buying this game either, going to return it once I recieve it. Sad GT use to be my favorite games of all time. All the games I've loved has gone to shit because of stupid decisions.
Just checked with FH3, and you're right. It doesn't work. I think it actually doesn't work for any Play Anywhere title (my brother tried Cuphead and it didn't work offline, but Minecraft and RoTR worked offline for me). That's actually pretty awful... and I think the reason there's not much complaining, is because I don't think many people actually know...
I don't see how online championships would be effecting by save editing. SR value is the only thing that needs to be kept server side, which is only effected in online races anyways.Save editors, a few guys on GT planet brought up the subject of save editing. With the whole online championship aspect I agree that could actually be why they went this route. I don't like it either but it is understandable to keep things safe server side.
But it's not the same
Forza 7 - Loot boxes, locked content & no public drift lobby.
GTS - Weak offline mode, no dynamic time/weather & joke car list.
2017 is a terrible year for racing gamers.
Thats a theory that doesnt hold up at all, lots of esport PC titles can be modded from hell and back on personal or offline PCs. When attending an esport event the consoles will be checked for cheats anyhow.FM7 isn't seeking to establish the racing genre as a viable eSport. GTS is, and that's why they are seemingly so strict on saves.
FH3 also works offline. Just checked.
Guess I'll just continue playing Driveclub while I wait for GT7
That's weird... didn't work for me.
It's probably just another stupid Win10 bug, where the Offline Mode isn't actually being set properly. Anyway, back on topic I guess.
Try resetting your the windows store setting for Primary PC for offline apps. I had to do that after the latest update.
Now people are suggested that locking saves to online is great because if there were offline saves, people would mod and get an advantage.
Jesus fucking Christ.
This is how far people will go to defend this shit.

Theres no excuse for just making a casual mode save that doesnt count towards your online mileage or round times.
... there's something a bit different about GT Sport. It will give you a license for the real world. Having worked your way through the game's campaign mode, completing lessons about racing etiquette along the way, you will be eligible for a FIA Gran Turismo Digital License from your local car club or national motorsports body.
According to the people at Gran Turismo, that license will "hold the same value as a real-life license" if the relevant body grants it based on the information from the game. Over 22 countries have signed up for the program, although details about what sort of real-world testing will be available to back up your digital education are limited.
Has that never happened before in any game? People modding the offline saves?
...that is literally the official reason why, straight from Sony/Polyphony.Now people are suggested that locking saves to online is great because if there were offline saves, people would mod and get an advantage.

Who knows? Maybe?
Not on any scale that is worth mentioning as a legitimate concern for anyone.
This is where we are now.
