Gran Turismo Sport - July 2021 Update

Is there possibility GT7 will be fully supported on PSVR 2?
Don't ask anything from the laziest developers on the planet

Sony killed evo studio so they let piece of shit studio live. The studio that release a half assed game every 5 years

didn't GT6 still have cars modeled back from the PS2 games ?

Yes. The PS4 wasn't powerful enough to have a full Gran Turismo running in VR at high quality, but PSVR2 and PS5 should make that possible. Iirc Yamauchi's plan was to have the full game in VR but was disappointed with the performance

Well any reason why they didn't offer at least quick race against AI on high difficulty on PSVR with more than 2 laps? We only have 1vs1 2 laps on easy difficulty.

Does poli even knows how to programe AI ??

the thing that really grind my gears is since I remember Gran Turismo, never had a good or competitive AI?? ( I really don't remember)

Ahh that shitpost got removed. Good.

I don't see much in that video besides that (new) 86?

They should overhaul the daily races; different combinations, more laps, standing starts... Oh well...

I also don't remember how it was in the older ones but in Sport they always take the perfect line so yeah... Not good. It's like racing against very rude arrogant and entitled drivers lol. It kind of simulates the online experience with the exception of punting and pushing people wide =P

Do they really need a trailer to say they put another Toyota in it ?
Toyota and Polyphony have a deal together, Toyota is heavily pushed in this game. There is even a Toyota cup happening right now. This is also coinciding with the release of the real car I believe.

GT sport is the only GT game I've put less than 3 hours play time total. The last GT game I put slot of time into was GT 5 and that wasn't nearly as much as 4.

I just hope they return to the original set up for 7.

I don't know when you last played, but the game had an SP mode added after launch.

As for this update, I can't complain too much about free content but it's hard to get excited about a new model year for a car we already have.

this is probably just for the Olympics or you thought you wouldn't get a Toyota race :P

Why hasn't this game got an 120hz PS5 mode already ?
maybe due to Polyphony not wanting to give some people an advantage, maybe because they are focusing on GT7.
BUT even then, they could have unlocked the framerate on replays, adjusted LOD and/or maybe up the resolution for PS5... I guess it would have been easier.

I can't imagine it's worh them releasing a PS5 version of this simply because it being a PS5 game would mean it was a second SDK and it would need to be recoded. They could unlock the frame rate but with PS4 games 60fps is the limit and it's there already on the PS5.
Instead of spending time on a PS5 version of a game that so many people complained about, I'd much rather they spent that time on Gran Tursmo 7. People can alreadty play the PS4 version on PS5 and it runs brilliantly.

I agree, but it would be nice to have some quick upgrades like enhanced LOD and 60fps replays in 4k mode. I can't remember if it uses dynamic res, but the engine seems flexible enough since they added some PS4 Pro stuff.

PS4/5 are basically PC's, PS5 hardware was specifically made to have hardware back-compat with PS4.
If 3rd party Devs can make 120 for year old games happen for free, PD should too. Like a lot of things PD, it baffles the mind.

It runs via hardware backwards compatability as the APU is compatible with the full PS4 and PS4 Pro instruction set. It's a PS4 game and the only way that a PS4 game can run beyond what it can do on a PS4 is if the PS4 game is unlocked in some way or if it's oatched to do so but the maximum output for PS4 hardware is 1080p/60fps and the only way it can take advantage of instruction sets and compatability that wasn't present in the PS4 hardware is to add those additional uinstruction sets to the PS4 game, and rebuild it as a PS5 title.
The Xbox Series of consoles are far closer to how a PC would work as it runs backwards compatability via virtual machine. Although it oversimplifies things horribly, if people are struggling with the difference between the way the PlayStation and Xbox systems work in terms of running older games, it's probably better to think of the XBox system as being closer to software emulation because as you can with software emulation you can often have improvements that you can't on the original hardware.
To note, calling using a virtual machine software emulation is really under selling the system that Microsoft uses which is fantastic, even though it is done in software. It's far better than standard emulation which I've never really been a fan of.
Unfortunately, it takes time and money to convert a native PS4 title into a native PS5 title and as much I've enjoyed Gran Turismo Sport it really seems like there are more positive things that they could do with their time and money. Let's be honest though, if they had decided to release a PS5 enhanced version of the game, there would still be people complaining just like you are. When you have a game with sales numbers like the GT series, (+8 million from what I''m seeing online about Sport) you're not going to make everybody happy irrelevant of the route that you choose, particularly with a platform exclusive and more so on a place like this. That doesn't mean that people don't have the right to be unhappy about the way they've chosen to do this.
In reality though, it won't really have any affect on GT7. 🤷‍♂️

Yes! The brand new 86. Thats dope.

GT6 is the best game in the series by far.
Zero fucks given about some obscure car types having ps2 models, like the 20 models of a Skyline GTR or every model of Miata/Mx5.... It added depth to the used car dealership and let's not forget the fact that GT6 had like a thousand cars.

GTSport has changed shit loads with hundreds more cars and extra tracks added.
If you have not played it in the last few years it is worth checking it out again.
I'd say GTSport is one the few games that has changed for the good over time with the monthly updates.

Yeah it was great and had an awesome track editor that wasn't random, you could design it how you wanted.
