Gran Turismo Sport Unveiling live stream discussion (incl. FIA Championship gameplay)

Footage like this would definitely make me close Evolution Studios.

If this were PS VR footage it might have been impressive.

According to PD, it's called "taking a new direction".

This is a sad day indeed.

They did, they took a left turn and this happened:

The reflections on the car certainly look like they are moving at more than 2fps, as per a comment from one of these threads. This track looks good.

Pretty disappointing from what I have seen.
I think I'll stick with F6 and if I want a new racing fix I'll get Project Cars cause it's pretty cheap now.

I'm pretty sad right now :(

Oh man, sony should have merged evo & PD, at least this would look & sound much better.

I'll give them some time to see how it looks in a few months but I have no hope at all.

The spectator stuff isn't -bad-, it's just... new? Something we're not accustomed to?

Liked that track, though. Reminds me of the NW corner of the C1 loop in the old Tokyo Xtreme Racer games. It might be based on an actual stretch of highway somewhere? Someone will figure that out quickly.
Not gonna lie, I'm buying this for GT in VR.
Yeah, same. I've been dreaming of it for 15+ years.
No wonder they made a separate event for this.

Sony dosn't want this to tarnish their E3 in the next month.
lol. It doesn't suit an American audience regardless. Even if this was the greatest looking thing ever it wouldn't be received well.

The reflections in the cars looks to be 30fps? You can see it more clearly in one shot in the trailer. Also it is jarring when the reflections jump suddenly like the cube maps aren't lined up properly or something

I'm curious what they've been doing for 2.5 years since gt6. That had a major physics overhaul and a graphics engine designed to be scalable for ps4 use. so they should have been able to turn around a GT6HD by last year.

It just looks... so similar.

The gameplay looks like GT6. They haven't added anything new at all to the actual RACING side of things. It's just the same old GT experience - very pretty, but ultimately shallow and unsatisfying.

Having raced so much on PCARS over the last year, there is nothing I have seen so far that suggests that I'm going to have any more fun racing on this game than on PCARS.

Soo... did Project cars ever get its controller handling sorted?

Out of the box handling (and the different modes available) were all absolutely awful. I traded it in it as so bad. No amount of tinkering got it right for me. Either way too twitchy or controlled like Titanic, never found a good mix, unlike the way GT's default controls feel pretty damn perfect. Such a shame.

From the race they just had on the new tokyo track it looked perfect. It could be the stream though. And not seeing enough/noticing at the end by me.

Yeah it's real but I haven't seen the vid yet. How long is the lap?

Have we actually seen any damage? There were some collisions but I don't recall seeing anything change on the cars.

Unless this improves a lot before release, I'll probably give the game a miss and just stick with Assetto Corsa. Never thought I'd even see myself typing such a thing about GT of all franchises. Oh well.

Yamauchi is probably still wearing his hat backwards and listening to 90s music; the guy is stuck in the mud of that decade! I hope that the GT community will stop blindly supporting anything that comes out of that studio and send a clear message regarding the much needed shake-up of such a tired formula.
This is sad...just sad...

Why the fuck didn't they just remaster Gt6 for the PS4 last year (or the year before) and call it a day?

I don't understand...

jordan's doing a nice job, but fucking hell, that other guy absolutely sickens me.

it looks alright (though it does look like gt6), but those sounds are very disappointing.

can't believe they dropped the ball on that.

Is it bad, cause i'd get it on PS4 if I was going to buy it

Full grid and 60fps is gone. Full grid and rain you will be getting near 30fps.

Not "bad' if you are used to Driveclub, but I bought PC for the 60fps and not to play it at 30, if I wanted 30fps I would go play Driveclub instead.

This is a sad day indeed. I freaking love GT but this just looks like crap to me, at least for PS4 standards. :|

Sadly exact my thoughts.

I like that GT Sport gets its own event and attention, but the showing for me is just okay. Gameplay seems fluid and fun, but the audio visual aspect of the game in is current state is not on the track.

Maybe it is the price to pay for PSVR support. :/

I can't believe the cars they're using for this event still sound this bad. There's zero evidence that they've even attempted to bring the car sounds up to even last gen standards.

I'm still buying the game and I will enjoy it but come on. It's pretty embarrassing at this point. There's no excuse considering how small the car list is going to be.

It will be shown at E3.

Shu: "PS4 will bring motorsport experience to every PS4 user and is compatible with PlayStation VR, let's have a look at this impressive trailer"

*screen shows 30 seconds of GT:S photomode footage with no car sounds*

Shu:"Gran Turismo Sport will be released on November 15th"
