Gran Turismo Sport Unveiling live stream discussion (incl. FIA Championship gameplay)

I wasn't upset at the trailer earlier, but this demonstration is killing my enthusiasm. The wheel to wheel racing is just hampered by the lack of consequence. These players are good but the racing is bad because there is just a lack of interaction among the cars and between the cars and track.

The tires are obviously impervious to heat, chassis' are hyper-stable during contact, the walls act as helpers down the track instead of being a tense and deadly dance.

I'm sure it will be as good as it's ever been for time trialing and joy riding. But trying to show it in the context of a competition like this really highlights exactly the parts where gt is behind the harder sims.

Mixed feelings for this, is it wrong to say the picture mode looks the most impressive.

I miss DriveClub ... Why did they have to kill it.

Did I hear the commentary right they said it was 50 percent complete graphically?
It depends on what they mean exactly. Iirc, the wave flagging guy was rigid on its spot and didn't move, even though he was a 3d model.
However, the new fia based career could be really really cool and there will be a maximum of 26 cars on the track.

I thinks it's time to show you the amazing Gameplay Trailer that is making headlines all over the world again for "Grand Tourismo Sports"

I can't believe the cars they're using for this event still sound this bad. There's zero evidence that they've even attempted to bring the car sounds up to even last gen standards.

I'm still buying the game and I will enjoy it but come on. It's pretty embarrassing at this point. There's no excuse considering how small the car list is going to be.
They do it because, as evidenced by your post, they know people will still buy it regardless. Vote with your wallet if you expect any improvements to be made.

I would be nonplussed if this is (in the least) representative of final product that gets released in November. Sad thing is, given PD's track record, I have no reason to believe much will change.

3 years in the life of the PS4 and we get this? I'm dissapointed. There is no damage on cars?

This is just how GT is. I can accept Forza's worts more easily because they don't take fucking forever to put out a game and release like clockwork.

I wanted to be dazzled and the ps4 is thirsty for racing. Why did Sony have to kill Evo and Driveclub.

This is... extremely disappointing. Honestly watching that race just a minute ago where the 3 Japanese racers were dominating, if you told me it was GT5 I wouldn't have questioned it.

Which I am perfectly ok with games disappointing in the graphics department, after all, my main console is an Xbox One. But gameplay and sound wise it seems so dull. Won't even bother buying this unless they are just holding something back. 50% done? Maybe the other 50% is improved sound and physics.

We still have no proper racing start.

Is this serious? You're just going to have '3... 2... 1... START' in your FIA approved racing game?

Jesus Christ.

I'm surprised there's nothing from stopping the amount of contact happening. I thought they'd at least have a special spectator that could hand out time penalties.

EDIT:
Adding onto that, these spectator cams are awful, Could they not capture some statistics like lap/sector times to show?

Worse than just the sounds, the racing looks no better than GT5. Looks stale, unconvincing, unrealistic. People bashing into one another and the cars don't bounce about or lose stability, looks so artificial.

I'm so disappointed with this whole reveal. Genuinely terrible.
