How's ultra wide in this game guys? Well supported? Bout to head either upstairs or downstairs and install this, the ultra wide support dictates which machine it gets installed on.
Rockstar stated improved ultrawide and higher framerate support in this version so I'd hope so that it's good.

Just a question guys, i hope someone can help me.
I'm considering to buy the Steam GTA V version since the Rockstar launcher sucks and the download takes ages.
Can i install the GTA V Steam Version through steam and not the lame Rockstar launcher?

Just tested, v nice, but cutscenes are letterboxed, I think there is a mod out there somewhere.

You'll install it through Steam and it'll handle the updates but it will still install their Launcher as it requires it for online.

Game looks insane at 4k all maxed out. My 3070 is kinda reaching its end tho, 99% gpu util and getting 60fps with dlss performance 🤷🏼‍♂️

Still looks great tho

Might try 1440p with no dlss

1440p native gets me around 60fps as well, dlss around 80-90

4k native with no dlss gets me around 33fps

System: 5700x, 32gb ram, 3070 8gb

Can anybody confirm? For me, the game appears to be capped at 120 fps. This does not change even when turning Vsync off, setting the Frame-rate limit to off, and changing the display refresh rate to 144Hz in the in-game settings menu. External frame cap apps are also not engaged.

Lots of reports this morning saying they implemented a hard 120fps cap.

Thats so weird. I dont play past 120 cause my tv is 120hz, but wtf. And no HDR. Always one step forward two steps back with Rockstar 💀

It looks so good!
Not surprising really as the Arbiter is basically a 1970 Pontiac GTO. Gorgeous body and it goes ludicrously fast! Bit tough to control but I'll get used to it.
Also I saw a dog outside my scrap yard. Which was nice.

Graphics might be better, I wasnt paying attention to that.

Awesome update

Is the EE showing up in the Nvidia app for anyone yet? I see the Legacy Edition but not the EE.

Rockstar seems to have struck the perfect balance. RT can drastically change the look of the game, but GTA5 still has similar look and atmosphere (IMO that's a good thing). RT however has still improved lighting quality a lot, so If you know where to look and know what RT does, you will appreciate the difference. RT GI is everywhere, so you can see indirect shadows and color bounce on the walls. RT reflections look awesome too (you can even see your car reflected in other cars as you pass them, it's very noticeable), but I'm the most impressed with RT shadows. Cascaded shadow maps in the original game looked like crap because the shadows were drawn right in front of you and that was very distracting. RT shadows solves this problem. I also like how shadows change during the day. Shadow can be really long and sharp (hard shadows), but also soft and diffused depending on the time of the day.

Performance is very good considering the scale of RT effects, my RTX4080S get 55-80fps with maxed out 4K native TAA, and around 100fps with DLSSQuality. With very high RT and without extended distance slider (advanced settings in the original version) I saw around 100fps at 4K TAA native, and 115-120fps with DLSS Quality. However, I did see stuttering from time to time :p (especially during cornering during fast driving), and I never saw that in the original game. I tried running the game at 1440p and my framerate didint improved that much compared to 4K, because the game is hard locked to 120fps. GPU usage was low and I had 110-120fps, so it seems the game is CPU limited at these settings on my 7800X3D.

I think rockstar did a good job with this GTA5 SUPER DUPER ENHANCED EDITION. The graphics look much more pleasing to the eye thanks to RT and better AA (DLSS transformer model looks excellent, original game had MSAA but there was shimmering everywhere, especially around cars), but that stuttering is definitely a problem, so I hope they can fix it. Maybe some particular settings are to blame, who knows. I try playing with different settings, and maybe try locking framerate (with RivaTuner) even below my max framerate, because stutters can happen if CPU is bottlenecking the GPU (edit -I tried locking the framerate to 100fps and now the game doesnt stutter nearly as much, I still see micro stutters sometimes, but it is tollerable).

Edit: The game has downloaded an update and Nvidia has also released drivers for GTA5. Before I had 95-115fps with maxed out settings, now I get 145-165fps. I think 165fps is hardlocked because even if I look at the sky framerate cant go higher (and I turned off Vsync).

Apparently they removed the text chat from the online... It's a shame.
It sucks how most modern games don't have text chat anymore, it's much better to communicate with randoms when you don't want to get involved in long audio chats. RDR2 online felt a bit too dead because of the lack of chat too...

"Enhanced" Edition but still have the forced chromatic aberration and lens distortion 😭
The chromatic aberration seems even stronger than before?
You can give me all the RT in the world and higher res texture or whatever, if you're still gonna ruin the final image with chromatic aberration and lens distortion making every objects in the corners look curved, it doesn't matter which improvements you add.

The game has excessive FX post-processing, especially DOF. The image was much sharper without lens filters, but I wanted to show screenshots with the settings maxed out.

Oh wait so, they can actually be turned off? Because in the original we can't turn them off (chromatic aberration and lens distortion) without using mods.

Yep. It looks like crap, texture are extremely outdated and the chromatic aberration makes everything so ugly. There will be soon an update reality V which removes CA and gives 4k textures to roads and many other textures

Knock knock n!gga's! (I'm not getting canceled now right? I'm half black.) Having played the PS5 version for the ray tracing enhancements and higher resolution at 30 fps. This PC update is a blessing. Maxed put everything at 4k goodness and high framerates and complementary dlss4 (file swap). Might need a complete replay at some time.

Looks great but the frame rate is constantly changing between 50 something to 120 so I'm needing to lock it to 60fps. Even with that it still changing from 50 to 60 more than normal!

Shame about hdr, frame generation and other modern trickery would be nice, I wonder if gta 6 will have such things in a few years when it comes out on pc.

How does the new Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced Edition, released in 2025 for PC, compare to the original 2013 GTA 5 release on the PS3 and Xbox 360? In this gameplay comparison, we'll take a look at Grand Theft Auto 5's Prologue, in North Yankton, the first mission featuring Franklin and Lamar, and a particular cutscene featuring a "old yee-yee ass haircut".

How has GTA 5 changed from the PlayStation 3 (via the RetroTINK-4K), to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 PC build running at the Maximum RT graphics preset?

Does the addition of ray tracing, ambient occlusion, global illumination, ray traced shadows, reflections, and more, really make the difference? Let's find out in this 4K 60FPS graphics comparison!

00:00 - North Yankton Prologue
06:11 - Franklin and Lamar First Mission
11:29 - Yee-Yee Ass Haircut

GTAV getting RT before RDR2 😭
But do you really want this?

Isn't RDR2 one of the best looking games already? That means they did a ton of careful manual work with whatever baked lighting they are using. Isn't RT going to replace the whole thing and make some areas look worse, regardless the realism?

Played it in 32:9 with no issues. The game scales accordingly
Nice. So, I've got two machines to put this one, can't decide what I go with, and neither machine is perfect lol. The upstairs PC is a 4080, but paired with a 5950 x, while the downstairs PC is a 2080 paired with a 9800x3D. Upstairs is ultra wide 1440 p while the downstairs is two monitors at 1440 p, HDR and VRR all around. I'm seeing some people say it's a bit more CPU limited than GPU, so I'm up in the air on this one.

Oh so RTGI ?
Wasn't it confirmed back at announcement?
More of interest is that it's seemingly a per pixel RTGI and not some hybrid probe based solution.
Although the transparent grass on the lower right could suggest otherwise but it's also possible that they simply don't trace through transparent textures.

PSA: There is an icon on the map for Hao's garage. Its located near the Chinese theatre in Downtown Vinewood. Go here first for a time trial race with a provided car. Beat the time (quite easy) and you unlock a discount for your first HSW upgrade.

Wish I'd known before I spent 250k on my Arbiter.

How's the Dualsense support, is it good or rather sporadic? I wanna play it with Dualsense on PC.
Adaptive triggers seem to work fine. I used a dual sense for a while before this patch, works well. Touch pad to switch between weapons, vibration go brrrr. Seems good

Thank you but my D-Pad Down is not working on my Dualsense all of a sudden so i have to play it with a Xbox Controller, sucks.

You cant because of Battleeye anti cheat. It blocks Special K's dll. Do you even internet?

Multiplayer? I remember injecting SK HDR when I played the campaign again a couple of years ago, no issues. I had this game looking better than this update with an EMB and HDR.

GTA5 with RT use over 8GB VRAM at 4K with maxed out settings. Play the game on the 5950x and just reduce CPU intensive settings a little bit. I recommend changing the RT settings from "ultra" to "very high" (RT can drastically reduce the CPU load, not just the GPU), but most importantly changing the extended distance slider from 100% to 0% (in the original game, this distance slider was hidden in the "advanced options" because it was so extremely demanding on the CPU).

One of the best examples of the RTGI i've seen. It's overall pretty subtle but in some scenes when it hits, it really hits. The ray-traced shadows and the TAA from the next-gen upgrade already solved a ton of this game's visuals issues and this just takes it a step further.

If I wasn't totally spent on the game (finished it on PS3, PS4, PC and PS5 now), i'd do another playthrough. Roll on 6.

Im actually really disappointed, It looks amazing but I'm getting heavy, heavy stuttering now. I've tried everything to solve it, disabling VRR, disabling reflex etc. Getting 70-80fps but horrific frame pacing issues. Will wait for a fix, itching to do another playthrough though.
