There's a better variety of actual different clothes, but there don't seem to be as many colours. Though they have got a bunch of stuff that SP doesn't have, like bandanas and headphones. Wonder why that stuff wasn't included in SP.

Didnt have any before but seeing the intro just now everything was a blur and tons of objects popping in. PS3 DD version
so when will we see review scores being changed for the fact they all touted the "500 missions to come in 2 weeks" using that to validate their scores assuming that Online would be even more expansive than the singleplayer and slap their 98 all time metacritic score on there, and now we see the "missions" are nothing more than thinly veiled TDMs and Races and not anything at all like the missions in singleplayer, and im not just talking about heists.
not to mention both IV and RDR had bots/AI/pve what ever you want to call it, hell there were hideouts in Red Dead that you could do by yourself all around the map, so far there seems to be none of that outside of robbing stores or racing by yourself, we cant even progress Lamar's missions cause his friend who you sell the crack to litterally is waiting for you to finish a TDM which requires people, which goes against the entire PR statment last week Rockstar put out "you can do missions solo or with others, you can go it alone" in multiple paragraphs they stressed that.
i just find it funny that i can race by myself and earn more RP than going thru the B.S. of robbing a store and getting 4 stars, i just did a race that was litterally 57 seconds, thats longer than the stickup animation, plus most likely dying and losing 2k cause of 4-5 stars....and theres no actual FREE ROAM where you and 15 other people can mingle and do things, theres no reason for the mode to be public if half the people in the session arent actually there cause it takes them out of the map when they start something.
wheres this "grand" experience? all they had to do was clean up the modding in GTA IV and add the ability to earn XP killing cops and make hideouts like Red Dead had...that was it, GTA 4 was top 5 on XBL every week since 2008 without any XP system for Free Roam, cause people were having fun, the ranking stuff in Red Dead was a step up, i loved sitting there killing waves of cops and then also doing all the side collectables and hideouts, this is essentially Forza Horizon with Guns

I tried playing again last night after getting to level 3 earlier in the day, but my character was erased and I couldn't get past the tutorial mission with my new character. I understand why they are having such massive problems, but having to do a mandatory tutorial mission that other players have to connect to is fucking dumb. Even when the game is set to private session, it still fails to work because it is "waiting for other players".

I had pop in a bit on the intro with the 360 version.
There are contact missions that have way more variety. Also get new contacts as you level and progress.

Does every clothing store have the exact same selection, or do different store chains carry different items, like in SP?
Have you been doing the story missions, though?
Some are escort, Some are 'deathmatch', some are races, etc.
When heists go online... oh buddy!

which Pure bullshit. You know why? I did all that shit ALL BY MY SELF. There was no one racing, no one getting the drugs. The only time people appeared were after the clothing shop.
As far as I am aware every store that has that sort of item has them all, so any top, pants, shoe, glasses, and accessory has them all. I'm pretty sure all the stores have all of them somewhere too even if they didn't in SP. Like Binco didnt have any accessories at all in SP, but if you go to the counter on the right you can buy some.
They have more than TDM: I've seen plenty of parachute, race, and mission types, as well as your normal TDM/DM modes. The parachute modes are MUCH harder than SP so far; hardly any room for error and you REALLY have to nail the checkpoints with proper form to even reach the next ones sometimes.

I've just been playing the sessions that won't save because it can't connect. Still having fun.
I am able to connect to the server some times, it even gets to the credits and tutorial. It never loads the tutorial session though. That's as far as I got.
It's a fun game, I've already had lots of Hilario, stupid moments.

Its not unrealistic to expect a game that was delayed multiple times to be less broken than this is now. Better communication would help as well. Posting one message and leaving the world to fester in confusion makes the situation worse. Post something about progress; let us know you acknowledge the PS3 version is completely broken etc. "Hey guys working on a patch, no eta yet but here is a funny video of a cat!" "Hey guys, update, found where the error is at, working on it!" "The crashing is due to Trevor setting the server room on fire, brb" Silence makes this worse.
My original point was, however, that if Rockstar was EA there would be no apologists.

Cloud servers seem to go up and down sporadically. Also frequently getting stuck looking at the city from above after completing a mission because the actual job/mission voting stuff doesn't seem to come up a lot of the time (might be cloud related).
When this thing works, it's great. The main problems are the psychopaths murdering anyone that appears on their minimap, not being able to hop to another co-op mission after completing one (seems like your choices are mainly deathmatches and races in the post-game voting), and so much of the activities are buried in menus.
Getting bulletproof tires on your personal vehicle seems like it's one of the best investments you can make.

I, along with everyone else, cannot wait to get my teeth stuck into this. But there comes a time when you need to say "this isn't working" and go do something else. People that have wasted hours on this have only themselves to blame.
That said, as I type this I've just loaded the game up, hit down on the dpad and moved my cursor over... But this is my first attempt today, honest!

But yeah, I think it's time to accept this isn't working and just move on. I just wish it would save my character. I would be totally okay with it not working. I'm just sad I lost my character.

That's the thing their support is posting on their twitter. They are acknowledging the issues but lack of any ETA or additional details is a bit disappointing.
I think the store with the suits and tuxedos has different stuff than the discount one, i'm almost 100% sure but i might be wrong.

Oh come on, I really dont even give too much of a fuck about GTAO unlike a lot in here, but I just tried to jump in considering they had a whole day of incompetence, and it STILL doesnt work.

Oh, nice! I saw the huge list of items in just the store you get a mission for, and assumed they had everything available in all stores. So like, the only hoodies I saw were open on the front, so I assumed there were no closed ones.
Something interesting I noticed though: I only made it to level 4, and the micro uzi requires level 5 to buy. I did co-op thing against AI enemies and picked one up during the mission, and still had it afterward. I couldn't buy ammo for it though.

Rockstar have posted a statement on top of their support page that acknkowledges everything mentioned in this thread and that if any progress is made the support page will be updated. The support page was last updated 14 hours ago, so don't expect online to run any smoother.

Weapons/ammo you pick up from missions, deathmatch etc you keep with you when you return to free roam.
I might be wrong here but after a relog you seem to lose weapons that you don't have the level for. This could be a glitch or I noticed wrong.

So I just tried to connect to GTAO and my character was gone.
I created a new one, but instead of seeing the intro cutscene, my character got thrown into the single player map. I had all the mission blips and character specific properties, but I was playing as my online character. Then the game froze and I had to restart the ps3. What the hell?

I was playing earlier today on 360.
Needless to say all that was said above explains why
1. I was the only one playing in my city.
2. I couldn't find anybody for any activity.
3. My crew name didn't appear

Reading posts yesterday and today it seems like PS3 users are having most issues. 360 users are at least able to play for a bit.
PS3, easily. I've logged 20 consecutive hours on 360 with no problems.

It is actually meant to be like an MMO with people just dropping into the race, but I think they changed it in response to the clusterfuck as I saw the race now said 1-2 people. But uh...didn't help at all for me.
I would like to confidently say it's just the cloud being down but who knows with how bad this has been. For now on 360 atleast it is saying that it can't access it and that the new character being made isn't saving progress, so it sounds likely.
Though I can't even get past this screen now. Somehow I have gone backwards from my already no progress yesterday.

They are both screwed up, altough I've put already about twelve hours into GTA Online without any problems, these last two days. That was on the 360, but that was probably pure luck.
Social Club is at least uploading pics now; still can't join jobs though/do the tutorial mission lol.
How do you have actual textures on your face? My character looks like she's from PS2 and in character creator it was more like PS1.
