I would say more than likely, probably. The economy went in the shitter in 2008, which would have been when GTA V entered development. Knowing Rockstar's penchant for social commentary, it would fit.

So... laid-off white-collar worker turned-to-crime?

I only recently tried male lead in the other game (Walter White). The female was awesome, and a nice change.

Female voice actresses were also a lot better. The male actors confirmed to the gangster stereotype. I may roll a female in "The Third" as well.

I'd love to see GTA tackle a female protagonist.

Will the Wii U be out when this game hits? Would buy it for the superior version at launch.
Yeah, this would be the way to go as the Wii U will launch sometime late next year.

Yes, it was great! And i wish GTA V has an even bigger countryside.

Agreed. I loved driving through the miles of desert and country side in San Andreas. Crank up the radio and let the good times roll!

The Five font, the same on the american dollar, makes me think the movie will be about the recession and all that Wall Street bullshit. Fuck I hope so; I want some GTA snark on this matter.

RDR showed that R* can create countryside and desert lanscapes that are both interesting to explore and look amazing. Hey maybe we'll get some animals in GTAV seeing as RDR had loads of them.

I used to be a huge GTA fan but GTA 4 on the PC killed any love I have for the series (gameplay and technically). At this point I can't see any reason why I would want to play another GTA or Rockstar game on the PC after GTA 4. I still haven't bothered buying the addons for GTA 4, the game left such a bad taste in my mouth.

So this whole "announcement" is pretty much "meh" for me which is quite a change from when they announced GTA 4, I was over the moon and watched the launch trailer hundreds of times.

With Saints Row 3 seemingly giving me exactly what I want from this style of game, it'll be interesting to see if GTAV can actually reel me back in.

But we shall see~!

Make it a New York cop who goes to russia and has to stop a terrorist while jumping through hoops for some bad guy that wants to play simon says. Also put his son in the game so you can play coop through the whole thing. Welcome to GTA 5.

I'm sticking to the DC/Baltimore/Philly idea. The US Mint in relation to the "V" in the logo, and the current political/economic climate seems to fit the most. Going back to Las Venturas would be slightly disappointing.
They need to get out of the fucking city. It only was fun in GTA III doing that. Open the area up. Vice City and San Andreas were loved because it wasn't one single area.

Well, that was a bit out of the blue, eh? Refreshing in this day and age of announcements of announcements. Even better idea would be to just release the trailer and let the internet explode.

I would have loved more open space in GTAIV to stretch my legs, though GTA:SA also had interesting things scattered all over the place. GTAIV took a ton of stuff away, so I guess it wouldn't have helped GTAIV to have a country side. It would have probably been more uninteresting than Alderney Island. They probably would have stuck a blue grass band in some shack to watch for entertainment. Also mud on the side of the road would cause your car to be stuck or something.

I would have loved to take these modded cars on a big long freeway.

Mexican would be the logical follow up to the series this far but way too predictable.
Would work too, DC/Northern Virginia has a large Salvadorian population, and Latino gangs (namely MS-13) have been a problem in the area.

I think they should have waited for the next generation. The console's just about finished it's life cycle. If anything release a Vice City or San Andreas type thing, but not a full sequel.

This makes absolutely no sense. Between the PS3 and 360 there's over 100 million consoles. Why would they wait until the market is considerably smaller to release the game?

That makes quite the sense.

I remember interviews with R* on IV, how long it was in development and whether ot not there were certain trends or styles that had to be changed during dev. to fit the generation more, and they were like 'not really'.

If GTA V really does go this route, then it will be interesting to see the details and specifics they choose to include, due to the fact that it's a relevant situation that is constantly changing every year.

How awesome would it be if the whole goal is to become president/high office guy/lawyer and the routes and things you need to do to get there. Fuck can't wait.

After Saints Row 2/3 and Just Cause 2, I expect a lot. I expect they will be pushing for another "Oscar worthy" story to counter. That's somewhat disappointing.

I wanna create Ponzi schemes and fiddle accounts!

I want to create a monopoly that destroys the economy of the USA as a whole, while lending out mortgages to people that can't afford it; all in GTA of course.

I hope you play as a fat, rich CEO who has to go into hiding after Occupy Wallstreet outs his corruption.

Maybe we will be playing as Shia LeBeouf and the inspiration for this game will be Wall Street 2.

Excite!

Make it a white coorporate head who loses weverything and goes crazy and extracts his brutal revenge against the 99% who ruined him and America.

Now if this makes it to Vita too as a Multiplatform release. Heheheheehe...

Can't wait in any case. They better make it as expansive as San Andreas.

I wonder what they have planned for MP?

RDR was a big step up on how it was delivered i'm expecting some real cool stuff with GTAV.
