GTA is all about the British take on the US as filtered thru the media, GTA in Ireland would be missing what makes the series great I think.Desmond said:I've said it before, GTA5 in Ireland (Belfast, Dublin, Limerick), Packie as protagonist

These are the same people who want every game remade as well. Something new pleasedeejay8595 said:I never will understand why people want a new game to take place in a setting we've already been in. Would be a waste of time IMO. Why not go somewhere fresh?

The problem with GTAIV is that, mechanically, it's practically GTAIII with better graphics and a mobile phone gimmick thrown into the mix for good measure. Gay Tony is what the game should have been.

So you think Liberty City in GTA4 was the same as the one in GTA3? loldeejay8595 said:I never will understand why people want a new game to take place in a setting we've already been in. Would be a waste of time IMO. Why not go somewhere fresh?

and I haven't even played GTA IV, lol.
Exactly my thoughts. GTAV needs to be more like San Andreas before I'll be truly excited. IV just wasn't as cool.SmokyDave said:Aaargh. I want to be hyped but GTA4 was so dry and stale that it's the only GTA I never bothered to play to completion. Need to see some details before I jump on the hype train.

A real life completely re-done Miami would be just as different to Vice City but still keeping the same feel. Vice City had the best atmosphere by far imo it would be amazing to get that again.
Angry Fork said:Anyone have a link to the first GTA4 trailer hype thread? I saw it once before but can't remember how I found it since gaf's current search thing sucks.
Gordon Shumway said:So wait, I don't get this. I live 5 blocks from Rock Creek Park, which is HUGE and could easily accommodate your ATVs, Horses, Cycling..whatever. Plenty of awesome trails like Capital Crescent which take you from Georgetown through Bethesda in Maryland. Another great thing is Both Maryland and Virginia could potentially be parts of the game as well, considering DC is being given the squeeze by both states.
Where I stay at it goes from hood to luxury in about 2 blocks, so there is your diversity (lol). And yeah, this whole "DC is flat" stuff rings real odd to my knees. Riding bike here is NOTHING like Miami which is the flattest place on earth. The hills here are no laughing matter, that is, until the snow hits..then this place is a laugh riot.
Red dead redemption is why for me.acm2000 said:im amazed anyone is able to get hyped for this after gta4
That's the first thing that popped into my head as well.kirblar said:I wonder what city they're using. The dollar sign V makes me think of Philly or DC.

goodfella said:Yeah, I don't think any GTA outside of the US would work. If rockstar wanted to do that I think they would have to do it under a new IP, as some of the core elements such as GTA's over the top view on American idiocracy and humour would be lost.
Plus, its not like there is no variety to be found in a what is essentially a whole continent.
The Mana Legend said:Rockstar joint venture with Volition to create GTA V! Rockstar works on story, Volition works on the actual game using tech from Rockstar.
Rockstar's site went down, NeoGAF had 500s (like at every NPD until recently).Gomu Gomu said:Btw, didn't GTA IV announcement trailer basically broke the internet? I remember it was one of the biggest gaming event at the time. Can't wait to see what effect is this one going to have.

A game in a distant galaxy far far away, and more importantly, under different creative leads.thomasmahler said:

Ninja Scooter said:they have a quasi Vegas in Las Venturas. I'd love if they took one of the 3 cities from SA and expanded upon it for Five.
