It was the way to play in Vice City, just creep up with an UZI and fire straight over the bars.Count of Monte Sawed-Off said:Capping people from that thing was just awesome. But more than anything, give me back my FUCKING STINGER Rockstar! The best car in GTA3 & VC and then it just vanishes. Makes me cry.
Fair enough but the people who did buy GTA 4 and were disappointed may not buy GTA 5. You know, fool me once, shame on you etc. Sales figures may not tell the entire story in the same way that message board posts may not, either.enzo_gt said:22 million copies sold of GTA IV mid-cycle vs. 21.5 for GTA SA at the end of a cycle doesn't really correlate with them losing a lot of fans. Forums aren't the greatest indicator of this stuff.
I think San Andreas was a good line between 4 and the bat-shit crazy that The Third seems to be. That's where I'd like to see it. No dildo bats or hover-bikes, but that harrier was outstanding.DennisK4 said:I hope they go even more serious and realistic.
Leave the giant pink dildos to Saints Row 3.
Yeah going back to Stilwater in SR2 was kind of a bummer, I won't lie. Even though they did change some areas quite a bit it's not the same as going to a new city. Thank god they're moving for SR3.enzo_gt said:When Saints Row gets an interesting city, I'll be on board. SR2 felt like SR1 redux to me from the little I played of it. Enjoyed SR1 though, though not nearly as much as any GTA game.
BobTheFork said:I know we're all excited but given what a slow drip their reveals have been in the past, I wouldn't expect anything other any 3 seconds of footage/images and a huge logo.
Dabanton said:Debut trailers for both GTA:IV and RDR were about 1.04 and 1.31 respectively. LA Noire was about 1.10.
R* know how to cut a trailer for maximum effectiveness i'd expect nothing more than complete and utter awesomeness from the Max Payne 3 trailer when they show it later today.
What i do love is how each trailer from them this gen has gotten better and better we had the Life in the West series for Red Dead Redemption and The LA Noire gameplay series i wonder what they have up their sleeves for Max?

Mooreberg said:The huge issue with GTA IV multiplayer is that people typically default to Team Deathmatch, and the game was never built for that (surviving an RPG blast because you have a vest on in single player works because it keeps the flow of the game going, but it makes no sense online). The other issue is that by the time the two episodes came out, certain modes had SIX playlists each - Ranked/Unranked for GTA IV, ditto for Lost and Damned, ditto for Gay Tony.
There should have been one set of playlists with a couple of offshoot modes for the DLC. If people who bought the episodes disc could have played with people who had the original game (similar to Red Dead's Undead Nightmare Collection, or the Halo 3 Mythic disc) things would have been much smoother.
But the modes you mentioned showed a ton of potential. If they can ditch this whole ranked/unranked business and handle the integration of DLC better, the game could be really terrific online.
hopefully they ditch the stupid autoaim set as default, ruined any chance of the MP ever being worthwhileHey You said:I hope the multiplayer lobbies are better this time around, I hated GTA 4's and thats why I mostly stayed in Free Roam.

In theory I don't disagree, realistic is fine and serious is fine. I just don't think GTA4 did either very well. I mean, you're still killing tons and tons of dudes in every mission.DennisK4 said:I hope they go even more serious and realistic.

I would agree. But I also think given the stature of GTA, people will give it a second (umpteenth) shot. Which we can see in this thread. Saints Row has a lot to lose in comparison in this regard, which is why SR still doing well to this day is a monumental accomplishment.Neuromancer said:Fair enough but the people who did buy GTA 4 and were disappointed may not buy GTA 5. Actually, there are dildo bats in SA.BobTheFork said:I think San Andreas was a good line between 4 and the bat-shit crazy that The Third seems to be. That's where I'd like to see it. No dildo bats or hover-bikes, but that harrier was outstanding.

I really think modern, and Hollywood. There's just too much smoke for there not to be a fire.enzo_gt said:Can we talk about something different, people? What are your guys predictions for the setting in time or the kind of decade they'll go for this time around? Modern again?
Ah fair enough.DennisK4 said:Well, you know, videogame serious and realistic.

I knew there was a dildo but not a giant 3 foot bat lol. The jetpack was cool as well. I still stand by what I said: Looking at the insane costumes, the speed bike, the anime-cat people cannon, I think Saint's Row is just going as over the top as possible. I think theres a goos place between there and GTA4. I was so disappointed you could not parachute when the game came out. Even if it was the dodo plan, I want to fly in Liberty city again..Derrick01 said:There's also hovercrafts and jetpacks. Not a hover bike, but still crazy and fun.
