I'm looking at this trailer over and over again and I simply don't understand what the hell they were thinking. There are multiple instances where the environments and characters actually looks worse than Miles Morales. I'm not kidding. Clearly the game isn't ready but why put this out there?
Its because the general public doesn't care about graphics anymore. Look at this forum.
You have members actively clowning people for caring about graphics.
Look at Twitter. You have 90% of the audience just satisfied with 60FPS PS4 looking games.
Look at the reaction to the Matrix demo. Instead of people saying "wow, this looks incredible, and a real advancement in fidelity." they instead shamed it for not being 60fps.
So Developers, and publishers have taken that feedback (because they DO listen), and said, "ok, we will just continue to make PS4 looking games, not bother with fidelity, and just make every game 40 hours long, so you feel like you're getting value.... But you'll have a performance mode!"
Look at the reaction to literally every one of my threads. I show some emotion for the state of PlayStation leadership when it comes to AAA First Party. First response is some fucking clown calling me Retarded. As if the show was amazing or something. Next thing you know the thread is deleted. You aren't allowed any criticism. And its not just here. Its Era. Its Twitter. Its Reddit.
People have gotten so fucking worried to be labeled a "console warrior" that it kills their ability to deliver any form of criticism. Everything is fine. PS4 looking games at 60fps is fine
Make a thread about your thoughts on the industry and its "touch grass".
Look at the reaction to my thread where I said, "devs should try their hand at shorter AAA games". Everyone was up in arms. They
must have their 30 hour AAA experiences, or it isn't "valuable" to them. God forbid a developer try a new approach, right? Are you not all grossly tired of these derivative, bloated ass 50 hour open world games? Would you not welcome some quality 6 hour experiences at 1/4 the price?
Gamers are a whiney bunch, but they don't complain about anything other than framerate and "value". Its 60fps, $70 dollar games and micro-transactions. Thats it. Those are the only thing that seems to bother anyone.
You NEVER see articles calling out the lack of destruction.
You NEVER see articles about how AI has been stagnant for 20+ years,
You NEVER see articles on the lack of graphical progression,
You NEVER see articles over the lack of new ideas.
You NEVER see articles calling out indie/AA games for making identical games with identical art styles.
Seriously, can you show me one article?
But yet, the
instant RedFall was shown to be just 30fps, the
entire industry, and gamers everywhere... Gave them hell.
Where the fuck is that same energy for literally anything else?
Drives me insane.
You have top journalists literally out here telling devs pushing graphical fidelity is a waste of money.
Folks, we have to make more noise.
